2+ years of sales experience – ideally working with high-value products and longer sales cycles

Experience selling into food manufacturing environments would be beneficial but not essential

Background in packaging machinery, packaging solutions, or labels would be looked upon favorably

Strong relationship-building skills and confidence in face-to-face meetings

A consultative, problem-solving mindset with a practical understanding of operations

A background or interest in engineering, manufacturing, automation, or similar.

Tertiary Education in Engineering, Sciences, Food Technology, or Business would all be very beneficial
-
High levels of self-motivation, professionalism, and commercial acumen
-
Willingness to travel nationally, with occasional international travel for training or events

About You

The Role
You'll be the key contact for clients across the mid to upper North Island, focusing on industrial, agriculture, and some primary food clients.
Your key responsibilities:

Manage and grow an existing portfolio of accounts
-
Spend most of your time visiting clients rather than in the office – typically two trips per month, each involving 2–4 nights away.

Build multi-level relationships, including at the packaging plant level
-
Identify and approach prospective clients within your region and industry segment
-
Provide technical advice and solutions (mechanical/technical aptitude essential)

Prepare quotes, proposals, and tenders
-
Analyse margins, forecast sales, and manage stock levels
-
Ensure exceptional service delivery and 100% customer satisfaction
What You’ll Bring

Industry experience providing bespoke solutions – Packaging, Labels, or Manufacturing
-
A can-do attitude, high energy, and a professional, approachable communication style
-
At least 3 years’ experience in Account Management, KAM, or Territory/National Sales
-
Strong numerical and analytical skills
-
Proven experience with forecasting, margin analysis, and costings
-
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and confidence preparing tenders
-
Mechanical/technical aptitude
-
A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, or Engineering is a bonus

A full clean NZ Driver’s License and flexibility to travel (you manage your own schedule)
