Job Description
We are looking for Machinery Operators for our busy horticulture business. This is a full-time permanent position and will consist of operating and maintaining orchard machinery.
To be considered for this position you’ll have at least a qualification at Diploma level (Level 4) or at least three years of previous experience in the agriculture or horticulture industry. You must have a current driver's license (either a New Zealand license or an international license with no issues which would prevent a conversion of the license) You should have excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) and be able to work independently to reach goals. You must be able to multitask and will be able to complete work in set time frames.
You will be also expected to perform tasks such as operating and maintaining our orchard machinery including tractors, completing repair work and assisting in the procurement of new machinery, completing paperwork as required and ensuring the highest quality of work possible. You will be solely responsible for operating and maintaining orchard machinery.

This is a full time and permanent position offering at least 30 hours per week. We are offering a minimum payrate of $28.00 and a maximum of $30.00 for this position.

Job Description
The Agricultural Machinery Operator is responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and minor repair of agricultural machinery and equipment used in farming operations. The role ensures that all machinery-related tasks are performed safely, accurately, and on schedule to support the overall productivity and success of the farming operations.
- Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed.
Applicants must have the following as per employer’s requirement:
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience OR,
- Level 4 Qualification
- Applicants must be physically fit.
- Applicants must pass pre-employment drug test.
- Applicants must provide a CV.
- Valid driver’s license
Desirable Attributes:
- Good understanding of agricultural machinery.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

- Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends and public holidays, during peak seasons.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machinery Operation:
- Operate various types of agricultural machinery, including but not limited to tractors, harvesters, sprayers, seeders, and balers.
- Ensure machinery is used efficiently and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company policies.
2. Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance checks and basic repairs to ensure machinery is in good working condition.
- Report any major mechanical issues to the supervisor and arrange for professional repairs as needed.
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities.
3. Health and Safety:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Participate in health and safety training sessions and contribute to a culture of safety on the farm.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with farm managers, agronomists, and other team members to coordinate tasks and achieve operational goals.
- Communicate effectively regarding the status of machinery, field conditions, and any issues encountered.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving efficiency and productivity.
5. Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of machinery usage, fuel consumption, and field activities.
- Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible for management review.
