Silky Otter Cinemas is redefining the cinema experience—offering premium service, boutique-style cinemas, and exceptional food and beverage. We're currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Duty Manager to join our vibrant Wigram team.

About the role:

As Duty Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the cinema, ensuring that both our guests and our team have the best experience possible. You’ll manage shifts, oversee staff, and ensure smooth operation of all aspects of the site—including technical performance, customer service, cash handling, stock control, and compliance with operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Shift & Operations Management

Lead and manage daily cinema operations, including opening and closing duties

Deliver exceptional customer service and support staff in doing the same

Oversee cleaning, maintenance, and general upkeep of the cinema

Ensure efficient and safe operation of all cinema equipment

Handle daily cash-ups, petty cash, and weekly banking

Provide nightly and weekly reporting to Head Office and Distributors

Support the creation of weekly content flyers and assist with cinema programming coordination

Manage stocktake processes and ordering in line with inventory requirements

Supervise, train, and support front-of-house staff

Monitor staffing levels and team positioning to meet service demand

Promote high standards of personal presentation and professionalism

Uphold and enforce all Silky Otter policies and procedures

Have great customer service skills (hospitality or cinema experience a bonus)

Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset

Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities

Confidence with cash handling, stock management, and reporting

High level of initiative, attention to detail, and accountability

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
