What You’ll Be Doing
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues across a fleet of trucks, trailers, utes, EWPs, forklifts, and mobile cranes
  • Perform engine overhauls, scheduled servicing, and general maintenance
  • Conduct hydraulic hose and cylinder repairs
  • Maintain records including WOFs, COFs, and service logs
  • Carry out pre-transport checks to ensure vehicles are road-ready for oversize load delivery
  • Assist in on-site repairs when required
  • Start early and be ready to plan ahead for the day’s work
  
What We’re Looking For
  • Relevant qualifications in Diesel Mechanics or strong hands-on mechanical experience (Apprentices welcome)
  • Full, clean NZ driver’s licence (Class 2+ advantageous)
  • Experience with diagnostics, fault finding, and repair work
  • Familiarity with lifting methods and working around swinglifts, Hiabs, and telescopic booms (advantageous)

Responsibilities

  • Service, repair, and maintain diesel-powered crushing and screening equipment (e.g. crushers, screens, conveyors, mobile plants).

  • Proven ability to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Solid understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working in high-risk environments following documented H&S systems.
  • Physically fit and capable of field work and travel.
  • Strong work ethic, able to work independently or in a small team.
  • Clean driver’s license.

This is a full-time, permanent role, and the hourly pay rate ranges between NZ$30 and NZ$45, depending on experience and qualifications.
