Key Responsibilities:

As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be the face of babycity, creating a positive and engaging shopping experience for our customers, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming customers and offering helpful, friendly assistance to find the products they need.
  • Promoting sales, promotions, and loyalty programs to enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales.
  • Keeping the sales floor clean, organized, and visually appealing by restocking shelves and arranging displays.
  • Meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Answering customer inquiries about products, policies, and services with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, processing payments, handling returns and completing transactions efficiently.
  • Assisting with inventory tasks, such as receiving shipments, unpacking stock, conducting stock counts, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Supporting loss prevention by monitoring the sales floor, following security procedures, and reporting suspicious activities.
  • Collaborating with team members to achieve store goals and maintain a positive, team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Reporting to the Retail Sales Manager or Assistant, ensuring daily tasks are completed in line with store goals.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:Must-Have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with customers and teammates.
  • Flexibility to work week, weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash and processing transactions accurately.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weights for extended periods.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Previous experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and other retail technology.
  • Interest in parenting, to better connect with our customers.

Success Criteria:

  • Consistently meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the team’s overall performance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, with positive feedback and a satisfaction rating of 90% or higher.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and engage in continuous learning.
  • Show initiative in organizing the sales floor, addressing customer needs, and assisting team members.
  • Be reliable and punctual, adhering to scheduled shifts.
  • Take direction well, while also using initiative to complete tasks without prompting.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical engineering experience
- Experience with operational parameters and troubleshooting for two (2) of the following: compute/storage/networking/CDN/databases/DevOps/big data and analytics/security/applications development in a distributed systems environment
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings
- Experience in internal enterprise or external customer-facing environment as a technical lead
