Job Description for This Position

You will be expected to work at various sites throughout the Auckland region for a minimum of 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of weekend work as well.


Study the specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare the project layout and determine the dimensions and the materials required

Shape or cut the materials to the specified measurements using hand tools, machines, power saws, or any other equipment needed

Construct building frameworks, including wall studs, floor joists, and doorframes

Make doors, window frames, staircases, and fitted furniture as required

Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment

Key Requirements for Successful Applicants:

At least 2 years of relevant experience is required.

Job description: 

- Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared byotherconstruction professionals

- Building window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using rawmaterialsor pre-constructed items 

- Laying out flooring , roofings or dry walls ensuring they are levelled and compatible

Job pre-requisites: 

- Certificate in Carpentry Level 4 OR above qualification, or proven experience as carpenter at least 2 years is required 

- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials 

- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction 

- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (poweredsaws, hammers, rulers etc.) 

- Ability to read technical documents and drawings 

- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times 

- Good understanding of basic math 

- Good physical condition and endurance 

- Successful completion of a carpentry related program is preferred

Your duties may include but not limited to:

• studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures
