The Role
This is a permanent full-time position, reporting to the Group Warehouse and Logistics Manager. The Group Import & Export Coordinator will handle all aspects of import and export operations. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating activities related to the import and export of goods, working with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining high customer service standards in line with governance requirements.
This role is fast-paced and detail-heavy, requiring close coordination with freight forwarders, 3PL providers, shipping agents, internal teams, and NZ Customs. If you remain calm under pressure, excel at navigating complexity, and proactively resolve issues, this role might be for you.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and managing export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and export declarations.
- Coordinating with customs agents and freight partners for smooth shipments.
- Serving as the primary contact for vendors and logistics partners, managing schedules, tracking shipments, and resolving issues.
- Troubleshooting delays and supporting contingency planning.
- Updating internal teams on shipment status and issues.
- Managing shipping costs and fees (MPI, demurrage, container holds).
- Monitoring and advising on trade compliance and regulatory changes.
About you!
- 2–4 years of experience in import and export operations, including inventory management and knowledge of accounting.
- Export compliance or logistics certification is preferred but not required.
- Training and accreditation as a TFO is preferable.
- Strong understanding of compliance, regulations, Incoterms, and international trade agreements.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, strategic, proactive problem-solver.
- Team player eager to learn and collaborate.
