The Opportunity

We are looking for a strategic and commercially astute Operations Finance Manager to lead financial performance across our Baking manufacturing operations in New Zealand.

This senior leadership role will drive commercial decision-making, balance investment with operational efficiency, and help shape the future of Baking through strategic projects and capability development.

You will be based out of our Quality Bakers Auckland manufacturing site. Reporting to the Head of Finance – Baking, you will partner closely with site and hub leadership teams, segment leads and commercial functions to ensure our operations remain competitive, compliant, and continuously improving.

What You'll Do

Strategic Partnership

  • Lead strategic planning for Baking operations in partnership with senior leaders to enable profitable growth
  • Advise on capital investments and strategic projects, including capacity, expansion and cost optimisation
  • Ensure robust financial governance and risk management across operations
  • Provide end-to-end P&L understanding through collaboration with Supply Chain, Commercial, and Procurement teams

Operational Leadership

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and planning across sites to drive accountability and performance
  • Deliver insights and analysis on cost drivers, manufacturing improvements, NPD and pricing decisions
  • Develop lead/lag KPIs to influence decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Present business performance to SLT/OLT/FLT and drive key financial outcomes

People & Capability

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of site finance business partners
  • Champion a strong business partnering culture and growth mindset
  • Support succession, capability uplift and coaching of core financial competencies

What You'll Bring

  • CA, CPA, CFA or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience in operational finance leadership within complex FMCG or manufacturing settings
  • Hands-on experience with capital projects, standard costing, BOMs, and variance analysis
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • A passion for coaching and building team capability
