Parks and Garden Maintenance Officer – 3 Waters Assets
The Christchurch City Council parks team is growing in a new and exciting direction. We want you to be part of our dedicated team.
About the team Our goal is to lift and enhance the quality of these beautiful areas. You'll combine mowing, spraying and horticultural experience to deliver a high-quality finish to the 3 waters drainage basin reserves throughout our city. Working in these spaces you will be exposed to a wide range of people, cultures and beliefs represented within Christchurch. An openminded, respectful outlook will be key. As part of upcoming changes "Local Water Done Well" a new team is being established to support Drainage Basin and 3 water asset maintenance services.
About the role As a Parks and Gardens Maintenance Officer you'll be delivering a wide range of maintenance, upkeep, and improvement to Christchurch City's 3 water assets.
Responsibilities - Mowing, hand and ride on
- Line trimming
- Spraying, weeding, pruning and planting
- Be a committed team player who is always looking for ways to learn, grow and improve
- Ensure all aspects of our parks such as turf, gardens and all associated furnishings are maintained to a high standard
Qualifications - Full driver's license
- Level 4 National Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent, or extensive experience in a similar role
- Grow Safe qualification, class two truck licence and W endorsement would be highly desirable but not essential (CCC can assist to gain these qualifications)

Role details - Hours of work - 7:30am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday. Weekend and public holidays on a rostered basis.
- Position - Permanent, Full-time
- Location - Based at our Wigram depot
- Salary - The salary band for this position is from $67,635 to $75,150 per annum (40 hour week). Starting salaries are based on knowledge, skills and experience.
