We encourage you to find an arrangement that works for you, whether part-time, working from home or flexible working arrangements. We are open to discussing how this could work for you for roles across our Transport & Infrastructure team.
Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We want to speak to pavements-focused civil engineers with experience with road and heavy-duty pavement design who are curious about joining our team to be part of our growth. Our Auckland Transport and Infrastructure team works on various exciting projects within New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands, operating across the roads, rail, ports, airports and land development market sectors. With a strong current and future portfolio of projects, we are looking for talented Engineers and Designers across all levels to join our team and make every day better for our people and clients.
Role
Working in our Transport and Infrastructure teams across New Zealand allows you to join a team with a huge depth of knowledge and exciting office culture that enables our people to play a huge role in the day-to-day lives of people across New Zealand. Working in our Pavements team each day will provide a variety of activities and challenges; overall, this is a role that will see you:
- Be responsible for delivering the pavement component for projects on time and to budget while meeting client's needs and expectations.
- Participate in road inspections as part of delivering the annual network maintenance renewal designs.
- Collate pavement information from numerous sources, develop pavement designs based on client's needs and produce comprehensive pavement design reports.
- Communicate positively and effectively, ensuring that team members, managers and clients are well-informed about your project tasks and deliverables.
- Collaboratively undertake conceptual designs through to detailed design, and provide input into contract procurement and construction administration with small and large teams.
- Undertake site visits, monitor pavement construction, provide technical support, and complete pre-seal inspections.
- Consolidate and extend your technical skills and show initiative in seeking learning opportunities.
- Develop and mentor others to grow successful careers and foster client relationships that contribute to repeat business.
Your passion, design and problem-solving mindset will be matched with a desire to work on meaningful and significant projects across New Zealand in a multidisciplinary business. Through your experience, you have sound knowledge of pavement investigation and materials testing techniques and understand how this information is used in the design process. You are known by your peers for your in-depth knowledge of Austroads, roading specifications and mechanistic design software (e.g. CIRCLY). You will have an inquiring mind, able to problem solve, think laterally and be a team player. How you work is also important to us – we will value your enthusiasm and motivation to continue learning from your peers and more senior team members.
