  • $80K–$100K + Company Vehicle + Full Medical

  • Make your mark in creating sustainable energy and infrastructure solutions for generations to come!

  • Career progression in a growing regional branch

  • Be part of major energy sector builds: substations, cable trenching, and renewables

  • Join a team that promotes from within and delivers technically complex work

About the Role
With a new branch opening and an internal promotion creating opportunity, we’re recruiting a Civil Site Engineer to join a highly capable and ambitious delivery team.

You'll lead boots-on-the-ground construction across energy infrastructure builds—from earthworks and trenching to concrete pads, cable ducts, and structural foundations. It’s a role with variety, autonomy, and real growth potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee site operations on energy projects (substations, power farms, HV trenching)

  • Manage civil crews, subcontractors, plant, and materials

  • Ensure all works meet H&S, quality, and program targets

  • Report site progress to the Contracts Manager

  • Mentor junior crew and contribute to a high-performing team culture

About You:

You will know how to run a tidy, productive site, and you’re confident delivering works that support critical energy infrastructure.

  • 2+ years' experience in civil construction/infrastructure

  • Proven site leadership—earthworks, in-situ or precast concrete, cable trenching

  • Comfortable reading plans, managing crews, and liaising with engineers

  • Strong commitment to H&S and a hands-on, lead-by-example style

  • Willingness to travel or work away when required

  • Positive, motivated, and a natural communicator

About the company:

This is a well-established award winning mid-sized civil contractor with a strong track record delivering complex projects across NZ’s infrastructure sector. Their civil division is key to major energy, pipeline, and foundation works—and they’re known for developing leaders from within.

This role offers career growth, exposure to critical projects, and the chance to work with a forward-thinking team doing meaningful work across the country.
