We’re now seeking Service Technicians for our Dunedin workshop . You’ll handle everything from routine services and major overhauls to on‑call breakdown support, keeping critical equipment in peak condition.
A week in the life of this role will involve:
- Scheduled Maintenance & PDIs on customer and company equipment, meeting Hyster service standards.
- Breakdown & Diagnostics: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical faults.
- Parts & Documentation: Order parts via our system, close jobs using our bespoke technology, and keep detailed records.
- Customer Interaction: Update site contacts on job status, and flag safety concerns or upsell opportunities.
- Safety & compliance: Follow all rail‑site protocols, PPE requirements, and Health and Safety procedures.
- On‑Call Support: Participate in a rotating roster for urgent after‑hours breakdowns.
What it takes to succeed:
- Trade Certificate/National Cert. in Automotive Heavy Engineering (or similar e.g. Diesel/Mechanical Fitting) OR a minimum of 3 years experience in mechanical servicing & diagnostics (heavy vehicle, plant, or similar).
- Solid knowledge of hydraulics, low‑voltage electrics & diesel systems.
- Current NZ driver’s licence + ability to obtain forklift licence.
- Strong customer‑service mindset & clear communication.
The working hours are a minimum of 40 hours per week. On-site and on-call allowances additional to wage plus overtime at 1.5 x standard pay, when available.

Key responsibilities and tasks:
· Provide service and customer support during field visits and dispatches
· Conduct all site installation and wiring for spa pools, control systems, Lourve, gas fire pit table and installing home and office electronic equipment as requested, using hand tools and power tools
· Inspect and diagnose malfunctioning appliances and control systems, technical problems, hazards and defects to determine proper solutions
· Dismantle faulty appliances, repair and re-assemble equipment and parts
· Adjust, repair and replace worn and defective parts, wires and control systems
· Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
· Explain to customers how these appliances and control systems work and correct operating procedures
· Maintain and repair all appliances for display in the showroom and office machines in the office
The successful candidate must have:
· At least 2 years of relevant work experience or a NZQF Level 4 or above Certificate in electrical engineering or a related field
· Excellent customer service and teamwork skills
· Strong attention to detail; able to complete work both accurately and efficiently
· Physical fitness and good work ethic
· ability to organise, plan, and prioritise work to meet deadlines
· No criminal or driving convictions
Type of employment: Permanent and full time
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week would be guaranteed. Maximum hours would be 60 hours per week during busy workload, working from Monday to Sunday on roster.

Your core focus will be to provide on-site support on software and hardware, carry out remediation, depot and field repairs, preventative maintenance, performance verification and electrical safety testing of company related electro-medical equipment. There will be requirement to work at customer sites for extended periods of time.
This is a **12-month fixed term contract** role based at our depot in **Mt Wellington, Auckland** .
**Responsibilities:**
+ Software upgrade remediation, Hardware replacements and Testing equipment.
+ Servicing customers' instruments onsite or at the depot as required whilst ensuring product repair turnaround goals are achieved.
+ Responsible for documenting all work (accurate and up to date) carried out in relation to remediation, repairs, preventative maintenance, calibration, performance, and electrical safety testing in accordance with company guidelines.
+ Participation in training courses on specialised topics, locally or overseas as required.
+ Ensuring relevant skills and knowledge are maintained to accomplish acceptable performance.
+ Maintaining knowledge and understanding of the latest AS/NZS Standards relating to electro-medical equipment.
