Your new position as aLAME - Line Station Engineer (LSE) will see you performing line maintenance services on Jetstar and client airlines in compliance with the operators AOC and regulatory framework. This permanent role will see you working with a range of specialist teams enabling you to provide excellent engineering standards on a solid foundation of safety, quality, reliability and service.
We’re on the hunt for someone who:
- Hold a B1 CASA Aircraft Engineer licence or NZ equivalent License with one or more of the following type ratings - A320/321, B737NG, B787, A330;
- Have excellent time management skills and a proven ability to effectively manage self and others;
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
- Have extensive experience in Line Maintenance;
- Have a proven commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Have proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle competing demands, particularly when under pressure and/or managing multiple stakeholders;
- Hold a valid driving licence and ability to obtain an Airside Drivers Licence;
- Be able to work a minimum of 30 + hours per week;
- Ability to work 24/7 shift work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, gas, roofing, and fire protection systems. About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Airconditioning and Mechanical Services Technicians to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, gas, roofing, and fire protection systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Air Conditioning & Ventilation:
- Install and set up air conditioning units, ventilation, and heating equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical and air conditioning systems.
- Assemble and install mechanical service plants, air handling, and conditioning equipment.
- Construct and install ducting systems for efficient air distribution.
Plumbing & Water Systems:
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layouts and materials.
- Install hot and cold-water systems and associated equipment.
- Fit sanitary plumbing, water supply systems, discharge pipes, and sanitary fixtures.
- Fabricate and install soil and waste stacks.
- Install sewerage and effluent pumping equipment and disposal systems.
- Install below-ground drainage systems and required ground support systems.
Fire Protection Systems:
- Install water-based fire protection systems, including hydrants, hose reels, and sprinklers.
Gas & Roofing:
- Install gas appliances, flues, and pressure regulating devices.
- Fabricate and install metal roofing, rainwater goods, and flashings.
Skills & Experience .
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- In-depth knowledge of plumbing systems, HVAC, ventilation, gas, and fire protection systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Competence in diagnosing and repairing faults to industry standards.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

The Mechanical Engineering Technician supports engineers in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment. This role involves hands-on technical work, including prototyping, drafting, troubleshooting, and quality control, to ensure projects meet performance, safety, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist mechanical engineers in the design and development of mechanical systems, components, and equipment.
- Prepare detailed drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Assemble, test, and modify prototypes and mechanical systems to evaluate performance.
- Conduct inspections, measurements, and diagnostic tests on equipment to identify issues and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical systems and machinery.
- Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing teams, and other technicians to improve product design and processes.
- Support quality assurance activities by conducting tests and recording results.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and logs.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards during all activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or similar role.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on skills in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and compliance regulations.
- Good problem-solving, analytical, and technical reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
