Job Description
As the National Air Logistics Manager for New Zealand, you will have overall responsibility for customer development, commercial ownership of the P&L and the leadership and development of the Air Logistics team. You will support the implementation of the corporate strategy for business success and operations in line with the overall company strategy in the Airfreight business field
**Your Role**
The core focus will be business growth, customer development and profitability. You will be responsible for recruiting, managing, motivating and leading the Air Logistics team in line with the KN Roadmap and RACI. All duties and responsibilities to be carried out in line with corporate Air Logistics policies and in close partnership with the corporate Air Logistics management/structure and other business fields and functional units.
**Your Responsibilities**
**Business and Product Development**
- Actively own growth opportunities and partner with country and corporate stakeholders
- Act as Co-Pilot for selected GA and NA customers.
- Make commercial decisions in and outside RFQs to win and retain business
- Acquire or support the acquisition of new business and support the account management.
- Promote customer relations and develops the existing client base
- Localise the global Airfreight products to meet assigned market expectations and requirements
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity in order to identify new business opportunities (acquisition candidates, new services, business partners, etc.)
- Support and cooperate in the determination of the global business strategy and execute/ secure its implementation
- Constant and extensive exchange with NA peer group on customer/trade development
- Constant and extensive exchange with respective N/ZA-D in regard to strategic customer/product development, pricing, including final responsibility on pricing/risk exposure on strategic RFQs. Supports the business development process (tender analysis, solution design, costing, pricing and service offering).
- Close collaboration with KN Group Companies (Apex, Quick, Morgan Cargo) where applicable
- Close collaboration with KN Perishable Management/PER Group companies, Business Development and Synergies, where applicable
**Profit Development**
- Carry and own the P&L responsibility for New Zealand
- Link financial performance to commercial actions
- Actively own P&L and customer profitability
- Manage RFC
- Create and monitor the annual budget, initiate corrective actions in case of deviations
**Operations Excellence**
- Support the National Team in operation management / strategy as per the RACI
- Ensure daily operational execution as customer delivery
- Support the corporate procurement and carrier management / strategy
- Foster a continuous improvement culture
**Leadership and Development**
- Provide overall leadership and development for the Air Logistics team
- Grow talent and manage succession plans
- Lead and steer the organisation in line with the KN Culture based on KN
Roadmap, particular KN experience, always acting as a role model
- Ensure the identification and development of an internal talent pipeline for
the organisation
- Pro-actively support talent with their development, fostering international
exchange, wherever possible

**Your Skills and Experiences**
- Demonstrated Air Logistics experience and knowledge gained across Airfreight Product, Customer Key Account Management and Customer Services Management.
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, coupled with the ability to listen effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to influence, negotiate and resolve conflicts internal and externally across multiple levels.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Strong presentation and moderation skills.
- Strong business development skills and commercial acumen, coupled with the ability to negotiate and influence to achieve the desired outcomes.
- Ability to manage time and resources effectively, deliver to deadlines.
- Project minded, with demonstrated project management and coordination skills.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, proven track record of successfully leading and developing a high performing team.
- Strong analytical skills coupled with excellent skills in MS Office.

Reporting to the Managing Director, KN NZ, you will have the opportunity to work on and contribute to the delivery of some key projects, while gaining hands on experience within the logistics industry working across and supporting our Air, Sea and Road business units.
**_Your main tasks and responsibilities:_**
**First Six Months**
+ With guidance from the Managing Director, carry out a detailed external market analysis and prepare a report on the findings; conduct research and gather data on the logistics industry by gathering and interpreting information about the market
+ Conduct research and gather internal data on the logistics industry and prepare a report on the findings
**Second Six Months**
+ With guidance from the GM Sales and Marketing, take ownership of a migration project of sales specific information onto a dedicated SharePoint site
+ Assist with day-to-day tasks and support on-going projects by rotating across different business units (Air, Sea and Road) to build an understanding of the functioning of each business unit and the logistics industry
+ Provide ad hoc administrative and operational support during the internship across the various business units as required

+ Currently pursuing a degree or recent graduate wanting to undertake an internship and gain hands on work experience within the logistics industry.
+ Ability to gather, interpret and summarise information from multiple sources to inform decisions and/or support a project.
