The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Qualified Painters to join our growing BGIS team in Christchurch. This hands-on role will see you completing a variety of planned and reactive maintenance tasks across key BGIS contracts. You’ll be part of a professional team delivering high-quality workmanship while upholding health, safety, and client satisfaction standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality painting, finishing, and surface preparation works across residential and commercial properties
- Complete both planned maintenance and reactive tasks, including home modifications, modernisations, and refurbishments
- Ensure all work complies with safety requirements, including Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Accurately manage work orders and job documentation using an iPad-based system
- Maintain a professional standard when working in client-occupied premises
What You’ll Bring
- New Zealand Certificate in Painting & Decorating (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- Proven experience in residential or commercial painting and decorating
- A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
- Competency using digital systems or mobile apps for job tracking and reporting
- Full (Class 1) New Zealand Driver Licence and reliable transport
