About the mahi (role)
TBI Health New Plymouth is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist to join our expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and adaptable clinician to work across a variety of clinical environments with a strong focus on musculoskeletal (MSK) and vocational rehabilitation.
In this role, you’ll have the chance to lead and develop our vocational rehabilitation services while contributing to general physiotherapy and clinic services. You’ll work with a collaborative and experienced team that includes pain specialists, psychologists, pharmacists, dietitians, hand therapists, social workers, and occupational therapists.
Our integrated service operates across New Plymouth and Hāwera, including clinics, gyms, GP practices, Southern Cross Hospital, rest homes, and in-home visits. The role provides plenty of variety and ongoing professional development in a supportive environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide comprehensive physiotherapy assessment and treatment for clients with musculoskeletal and complex needs in clinic and workplace settings.
- Complete workplace assessments and support clients with return-to-work planning and rehabilitation following injury or illness.
- Develop and implement individualised rehabilitation plans, monitor progress, and adjust treatment as needed in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Liaise with GPs, specialists, employers, and other providers to ensure coordinated care and smooth rehabilitation pathways for clients.
- Educate and empower clients by providing clear, tailored guidance on injury management, recovery expectations, and self-care strategies.
