An opportunity has arisen for one civil engineer technician to join our team located in Auckland.

The position is a permanent full-time position, and we guarantee at least 40 hours per week job. We will pay $33 to $36.00 depending on learning ability or experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in preparing and interpreting the project's plans, drawings, and specifications.

  • Performs detailed drafting tasks using both manual drafting techniques and computer-aided design software.

  • Collects data on on-site and ground conditions, drainage, utilities, and other Infrastructure components relevant to the arena project.

  • Conducts materials testing and analysis to meet quality and performance standards.

  • Monitors construction activities to ensure they align with design specifications and project requirements.

  • Coordinates with contractors, surveyors, and other professionals on-site.

  • Assists in resolving any unforeseen technical challenges or complications arising during construction.

  • Helps in the preparation of cost estimates and construction schedules.

  • Provide regular progress updates to the lead Civil Engineer and other stakeholders.

  • Ensures that all works meet safety and environmental standards.

Requirements:

  • Applicants should have a relevant Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

  • Friendly, with good time management, & excellent work ethic are essential

  • A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry

  • Reliable and hardworking

**Job Description**

We are looking for an accomplished Principal Civil Engineer ideally with proven experience in aviation projects and construction monitoring and design to join our dynamic and growing Transport team. You will contribute to development of proposals for clients as well as developing business from a local client base. In addition, as a Principal Civil Engineer you will:
* Project Technical Lead on a variety of projects to ensure the team delivers on Project agreed outputs on budget, on time and to quality standards.
* Work closely and engage regularly with key clients, understanding their needs and problems they face, able to get in front of projects and influence outcomes for successful team outcomes.
* leadwork with team leads in ensuring the team's technical development is ongoing.
* Produce quality project outputs, ensuring scope changes are closely monitored and design work is adequately resourced, reviewed and programmed.
* Plan, programme, co-ordinate and write reports for specific projects.
* Prepare cost estimates for project design and construction.
* Prepare tender documents and specifications for projects.
**About you**
You will be an experienced Civil Engineer with a proven track record of successfully delivering stormwater, water and/or wastewater projects and working collaboratively with clients and colleagues across the country.
You'll be a confident communicator with an engineering tertiary qualification plus 10 or more years' experience, able to develop strong internal and external client relationships, carry out all aspects of project delivery and oversight of technical delivery, including client and stakeholder consultation and negotiation when required.
Your own self-management skills will be as important as your technical and project delivery ones. You will need to be able to prioritise workloads whilst maintaining strong and trusting working relationships with our clients' and colleague's both locally and across the broader Stantec business.
