Looking for multiple experienced plasterers who have a good attitude towards work and great references. The successful candidates will have at least three years of plasterer experience.

About you:
The ideal candidate must be able to:
- determining plasterboard layout, and installing insulation and vapour barriers
- measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard, lifting and positioning panels, and securing them to walls, ceilings and battens
- preparing corner beads and securing them in position
- fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings
- covering joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, and smoothing them using wet brushes and sand paper
- mixing and applying coats of plaster, cement and render to structures using trowels, and levelling and smoothing coats to uniform thickness
- plumbing and straightening corners, angles and wall and ceiling surfaces
- creating decorative textures in finishing coats
- applying and finishing acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement and similar materials
The ideal candidate will also have:
- High level of English communication skills
- Two contactable references
- Your own set of tools
- Able to pass a police check and drug test
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual labour
About the role:
- Minimum 30 hours per week
- Hourly wage ranging from $27.50 - $35.00
- Permanent role - Monday to Friday, with extra shifts available on weekends
- As part of your employment, you may be required to travel to a different region for different projects, including Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu,Marlborough, Nelson, Northland, Otago, Southland, Taranaki, Waikato, Wellington, and West Coast.
- You will be given reasonable notice if you are required to relocate to another region. Franklin Smith will cover transportation and accommodation expenses related to the relocation.

The Role:-
This is an opportunity for a plasterer with a company doing construction business. This is a full-time ( 40 hours per week) position based in Hamilton and the role is to provide service to our business throughout Waikato.
Key responsibilities in this role will include.
1. Measure, cut, and fit drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings.
2. Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joints.
3. Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
4. Fill joints nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a towel and broad knife.
5. Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in the compound.
6. Smooth out the excess compound and allow the coat to dry.
7. Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
8. Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
Skill and experience:-
Should have two years of experience in the construction field.
Must have a New Zealand driving license.

• Install fire protection systems to industry and manufacturer specifications.
• Ensure 100% compliance with NZ Building Code (C/AS2, AS4072.1) and project requirements.
• Subject to Site Supervisor Audits to verify installations meet QA and client expectations.
• Support the Site Supervisor in as the installation team.
• Promote teamwork and professionalism on-site.
3. Technical Expertise & Problem-Solving
• Develop an understanding of Passive Fire Productd Ryanfire, Hilti, Promat, Boss etc.
• Identify and help resolve installation challenges with the Site Supervisor
• Assist with QA app reporting to document completed work.
• Follow and enforce WorkSafe NZ regulations and site-specific safety requirements.
• Ensure correct use of PPE, safe work methods, and hazard identification.
• Participate in toolbox talks and pre-start meetings.
• Meet daily and weekly installation targets without compromising quality.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
1. Installation Quality & Compliance (Target: 98% QA pass rate, 0 non-compliance notices)
a) Follow manufacturer guidelines and NZBC requirements for installations.

c) Ensure all installations are recorded correctly in the QA app.
2. Productivity & Efficiency (Target: 100% of daily/weekly installation goals met)
a) Work closely with the Site Supervisor to plan efficient task sequencing.
b) Ensure materials and tools are prepared ahead of time.
c) Identify and address potential slowdowns before they impact progress
This is a full time and permanent position. Work up to 50 hours per week with minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30am to 5:00pm. Pay rates from $28.50 to $35 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
Saturdays maybe required on an occasional basis
