We’re looking for aSenior Software Engineer – Design System to help shape the future of front-end development at Serko. In this role, you'll be part of the team that defines how our organisation engages with our Design System while delivering highly usable, accessible, and performant UI components that support fast, consistent experiences across our products.
Requirements
You’ll work closely with engineers, designers, and product teams to evolve a modern component library and supporting workflows that enable scalable, high-quality software development. This includes championing best practices, contributing to internal tooling, and building a feedback-friendly culture.
You’ll join our Engineering organisation and be embedded within a cross-functional team dedicated to the Design System. You'll also play a key role in mentoring others and improving how Serko designs and delivers user experiences across applications.
What you'll do- Define how Serko teams interact with and adopt the Design System.
- Build and maintain high-quality, accessible, and responsive React components.
- Support engineering teams through onboarding, training, and integration support.
- Collaborate with designers to align UI implementation with Figma libraries.
- Champion performant, accessibile, and scalable front-end component architecture.
- Write clean, well-documented code with a strong emphasis on testing and automation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in tools, standards, and workflows.
- Mentor and support engineers who are early in their careers or new to Serko.
- Strong experience building and maintaining UI across different devices (desktop, mobile, tablet).
- Expert-level knowledge of front-end technologies: React, CSS/CSS-in-JS or Tailwind, semantic HTML, TypeScript, NodeJS.
- Deep understanding of React composition and reusable component patterns.
- Hands-on experience with tooling such as Webpack, Vite, Jest or Vitest, Testing Library, Storybook, Cypressor Playwright.
- Strong communication skills — you can distil complex UI needs into clear, actionable solutions.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines to support design system automation is a plus.
- Openness to learning and sharing in a respectful, inclusive team environment.

Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Advisory
**What does a successful SDET Advisory do at Fiserv?**
We're looking for a seasoned Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team in an Advisory capacity, driving quality at speed. In this role, you'll play a critical part in shaping our CI/CD pipelines, embedding test automation into every stage of the development lifecycle, and enabling rapid, reliable releases.
**What you will do:**
+ **Lead Strategic Automation & CI/CD Initiatives:** Provide expert guidance on scalable test automation frameworks and CI/CD best practices to enhance delivery speed and reliability.
+ **Champion Quality Standards:** Advocate for shift-left testing and continuous quality, ensuring automation is integrated early and maintained throughout.
+ **Inspire Innovation and Continuous Improvement** : Encourage bold, forward-thinking approaches that challenge the status quo, aiming to reduce manual effort and accelerate the product development lifecycle.
+ **Mentor and Empower SDET Talent:** Offer hands-on coaching and technical leadership to SDET team members, fostering a high-performing, growth-oriented environment.
+ **Oversee Test Planning & Quality Assurance:** Review and refine existing automation test suites, providing actionable feedback to improve test coverage, maintainability, and effectiveness.
**What you will need to have:**
+ Proven technical leadership, with a track record of coaching and mentoring SDETs and Developers.
+ Hands-on expertise with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar), performance testing, and automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium).
+ Strong background in Agile/Scrum with exploratory testing techniques.
+ Proficiency with tools like Charles Proxy, Fiddler, Postman, and SoapUI.
+ Familiarity in native iOS/Android development.
+ Deep understanding of Pact Contract Testing.
+ Experience in Jira, or similar backlog and defect management tools
+ A passion for knowledge sharing-leading 'lunch and learn' sessions or technical deep dives to uplift team capability and promote best practices.
