They provide their services to Dental Clinics and Hospitals across New Zealand. With 50 years in the business, they have a lot of knowledge and experience, and the company is enjoying considerable growth.
The Opportunity:
They are keen on adding to their Engineering team by appointing a new Trainee Service Technician to join their Workshop team.
This is a great role for someone who is looking to become an Electro-Mechanical Service Technician. You will be given comprehensive, on the job training. You will learn how to repair and service Dental equipment in their inhouse workshop, as well as gain experience in the field by assisting qualified Technicians as required. You will have the guidance and knowledge of Technicians who have been working in this company for 30+ years! (The skill set is very sought after and will always be in demand).
About You:
This role is a ‘on the job’ learning opportunity. The right Candidate will need to be switched on, eager to learn and will be happy to start with junior tasks based in the Workshop. (Walk before you can run). The right attitude is a must, as well as the willingness to get stuck into any task. You will possess the ability to work well within a team, be able to take direction, but also be able to work autonomously when needed.
A relevant Engineering (Preferably Electrical/ Electro-mechanical) qualification is desirable.
The training can take 2 years, so they are looking for someone who is committed and serious about growing their career.

- Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, technical specifications, and operational procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
- Diploma or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering (NZQA Level 5 equivalent), Or Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in mechanical maintenance.
- Sound understanding of warehouse mechanical systems and industrial equipment.
- Experience in interpreting mechanical drawings and plans.
- Ability to diagnose faults and suggest appropriate technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Familiarity with New Zealand Health & Safety practices (training will be provided if needed).
