We are seeking an experienced Work Based Learning(WBL) Assessor specialised in Security Training/Tutoring to support and deliver our NZ Certificate in Security Level 3 programme . This role is perfect for a security professional with assessment experience who wants to contribute to developing the next generation of security practitioners.
You will conduct workplace assessments, mentor students in real-world environments (online and on-site) and ensure our learners meet industry standards while gaining practical, hands-on experience in the security sector.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct work-based assessments for students undertaking the NZ Certificate in Security Level 3
• Create Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for each trainee with their supervisors
• Visit workplace learning sites to observe and assess student performance
• Complete all assessments, marking, feedback, and moderation within required timeframes
• Participate in internal and external moderation as per annual moderation plans
• Provide first-contact academic and pastoral support to learners
• At least 2 years Security Tutoring/ training experience
• Experience in vocational education or training
• Knowledge of NZQA unit standards and assessment processes
• Minimum level 4 or above qualification in a relevant field (Business/Security)
• Links with security industry organisations and agencies
• Competency in Microsoft Office applications
• Certificate in Adult Teaching and Learning (Level 5 or 6) or willing to work towards one
• Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education or willing to work towards one
• Clean Full NZ Drivers Licence – travel to sites across the region is required from time to time
