We are team Iplex - we’re over 200 people strong and we’re highly passionate about delivering plastic pipeline systems in New Zealand as we work to become NZ’s leader of plastic building materials. We have team members working in manufacturing and distribution in Palmerston North, Christchurch and Ashburton, with our commercial head office based in Auckland.
With an ongoing focus on supply chain excellence, Iplex Pipelines are looking for a National Logistics Manager based in our Palmerston North office. Reporting to our National Operations Manager, this role oversees logistics and yard operations across three key locations and provides leadership, and customer leading delivery services to our supply chain operations. You will manage the inwards goods warehouses, logistics operations and ensure smooth coordination between manufacturing, imports, and yard distribution.
Specific responsibilities of the role will include but not limited to;
- Team leadership and development and implementation of driving continuous improvement and best practice within the warehouse and logistics operations.
- Champion and lead the SAP project enhancements.
- Oversee 3rd party logistics providers, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring service KPIs are met.
- Ensure all import activities fully comply with MPI standards, with accurate documentation and regulatory requirements consistently maintained.
To hit the ground running you’ll have;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a logistics management role.
- Ability to understand the operational complexities including the handling of finished goods, imported materials, and the processes involved at the various sites and products supplied by manufacturing.
- Proven leadership experience with a focus on team development and retention.
- Experience managing freight contracts and logistics processes.
- An MPI Certification would be advantageous.

Kuehne+Nagel New Zealand have a rare and exciting opportunity to undertake a **12-month internship** to obtain structured work experience in the logistics industry, gaining practical skills and knowledge. Reporting to the Managing Director, KN NZ, you will have the opportunity to work on and contribute to the delivery of some key projects, while gaining hands on experience within the logistics industry working across and supporting our Air, Sea and Road business units.
**_Your main tasks and responsibilities:_**
**First Six Months**
+ With guidance from the Managing Director, carry out a detailed external market analysis and prepare a report on the findings; conduct research and gather data on the logistics industry by gathering and interpreting information about the market
+ Conduct research and gather internal data on the logistics industry and prepare a report on the findings
**Second Six Months**
+ With guidance from the GM Sales and Marketing, take ownership of a migration project of sales specific information onto a dedicated SharePoint site
+ Assist with day-to-day tasks and support on-going projects by rotating across different business units (Air, Sea and Road) to build an understanding of the functioning of each business unit and the logistics industry
+ Provide ad hoc administrative and operational support during the internship across the various business units as required
**_About You:_**
+ Currently pursuing a degree or recent graduate wanting to undertake an internship and gain hands on work experience within the logistics industry.
+ Ability to gather, interpret and summarise information from multiple sources to inform decisions and/or support a project.
+ Ability to data and finding clearly and concisely in written format, such as a report.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
+ Attention to detail skills coupled with a commitment to delivering high quality work.
+ Eagerness to gain new skills and learn within a fast-paced industry.
+ Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team, coupled with the ability to use initiative
