About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Service Manager to oversee and support our residential and commercial cleaning teams. This is a leadership role that combines operational supervision with hands-on cleaning duties, team support, and responsibility for ensuring exceptional service standards are consistently met across all jobs.
You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, assisting cleaners on-site as needed, responding to urgent job requirements, and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction. This role requires flexibility and availability to respond to operational needs across all shifts – including after hours, weekends, and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, Supervise and organising daily cleaning operations across multiple job sites
- Participate in hands-on cleaning tasks if required (e.g., vacuuming, mopping, dusting, disinfecting kitchens/bathrooms, window cleaning, etc.)
- Support and assist cleaners during shifts to ensure quality and efficiency
- Conduct site checks and ensure all work meets company and client standards
- Manage scheduling, allocate resources, and coordinate staff availability ensure smooth business operations and the provision of accurate and timely information
- Respond promptly to client feedback, complaints, and urgent issues
- Developing and Promoting facilities and services to potential customers
- Managing subcontractors to ensure efficient and timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks
- Coordinating with property managers when necessary
- Ensure compliance with OH&S policies, safe work practices, and use of correct chemicals and PPE
- Maintain clear communication with staff and management teams
- Train, mentor, and support new team members to ensure high performance
- Monitor supplies and equipment use, and coordinate replenishments as required
- Ensuring staff compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role in the cleaning or facilities sector (minimum 2 years preferred)
- Hands-on experience with residential and/or commercial cleaning
- Strong understanding of OH&S procedures and cleaning best practices
- Ability to lead by example and work alongside the team when required
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Must be physically fit and capable of performing cleaning duties
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Mobile phone with internet/data access
- Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call 24/7 as operational needs require
