The purpose and key functions of the role are:
Application Development
Majority of your time will be dedicated to hands on Angular, .Net and SQL Server development. As this is a business application it is database centric. The development is going to be around getting information in and out of the database and form design. An increasing exposure to web based applications on multiple devices is required.
Application Architecture and Design
A key function of the role is going to be around designing the application in conjunction with the product owner and looking to get the application working well for the business. This will be done in conjunction with the product owner, other team members and where appropriate, external consultants.
Approach to Development
Style to Development
We see the style of development would involve working closely with the business, designing, prototyping and deploying functionality on a continuous basis while working within an overall plan.
We see the application essentially as a monolith n-tier, broken into three layers.
Middle Tier – business rules handled by the object model. With the web version, there is an API to be created on front of the object model.
Back-end - Transact-SQL and the data layer – SQL Server Tables.
Web – Angular is the new front end and is due for release
Technology
.Net (C#) and SQL Server (Transact-SQL) as the development tools

For this role strong design skills are going to be critical. We are looking for the ability to do elegant, clear design and turn that into clean easy to follow logical and serviceable code.
We see that ability to structure code in logical and reusable ways that minimise development effort as more important than raw technical talent.
As you may be the technical lead on a project we are looking for a proven experience developing business applications.
As we are looking to build much of the data processing in the SQL you will need to have strong abilities with SQL Programming and Angular web.
We are looking at completing our web-based version of the desktop app. This means skills as a full stack developer are also essential as well as angular skill set.
Communication Skills
This role requires the highest standard of communication skills:
This role includes user interaction and design discussion working with other people, both internal and external.
You will need to discuss design ideas and plans with non-coding people and develop prototypes without the need of detailed written specifications.
