About the Role
As an integral part of our dynamic team, you'll work alongside experienced Electrical Fitters, assisting in the construction and installation of electrical systems for substations. This is your chance to contribute to the growth and development of essential electrical infrastructure in the Wellington region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical systems for substations.
- Collaborating closely with Electrical Fitters to ensure all work meets design specifications and rigorous safety standards.
- Performing wiring, conduit installation, and connecting electrical equipment.
- Ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations and quality standards on all tasks.
- Carrying out PAT testing and other essential compliance work.
- Working effectively with team members and other trades to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a skilled and proactive individual who is ready to take the next step in their career.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Registered Electrician with a current practicing license.
- Proven experience as an Electrician, ideally with industrial/commercial experience.
- A current and valid driver's license.
- Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- A strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and safety standards.
- Ability to work both independently and as a valued part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to safety.
- Willingness to study towards a Supply Electrician Qualification (Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply - Electrical).
Desirable Skills (but not essential):
- Knowledge of SCADA and protection wiring.
- Class 2 heavy traffic license.
- Some mechanical knowledge.
