About our company
Mondello Kaikoura is Kaikoura’s newest accommodation complex, offering modern, clean and styled rooms appealing to any traveler, from a solo person to a family or small group. We are now seeking Motel Managers to join our friendly team in Kaikoura.
What you will do but not limited to the following:
- Organises and controls the operations of our motel to provide guest accommodation and other services
- Directs and oversees motel reservation, reception, room service and housekeeping activities
- Arranges and supervises motel security arrangements, and garden and property maintenance
- Manages and supervises motel staff, including hiring, training and performance evaluation
- Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations
- Monitors and evaluates the quality of guest services and ensures customer satisfaction
- Manages budgets and financial resources of our motel, including monitoring expenses and revenue
- Maintains records and prepares reports on motel operations
Suitable candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Either have at least two years of relevant experience or NZQF Diploma
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility across the business
- Great organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Strong and polished verbal and written communication skills
What we can offer:
- Full time employment: in Kaikoura
- Hourly rate: $35/hour gross - $40/hour gross
- Hours of week per week: a minimum of 40 hours, no more than 45 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Over time maybe expected

We are a comfortable, quality motel located in Kaikōura, and we are looking for a full-time Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of our business independently.You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the motel, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high operational standards.
Position: Motel Manager (Full Time Permanent)

Working Hours: 40 hours per week(Minimum 30 hours guaranteed)
Pay rate: $31 - $35 per hour
Requirements
You will have either:A relevant qualification at NZQF Diploma level or higher in Hospitality, Business, Management, or Commerce, OR 3 years’ relevant work experience in a similar role.

Flexibility with working hours, including availability on weekends and public holidays as required
A high level of responsibility, reliability, and attention to detail
A genuine passion for the hospitality industry
Job Responsibilities
1. Supervise the reception and reservation activities, including check-in and check-outs.
2. Supervise the housekeeping activities on a daily basis to ensure the guest rooms meet high cleanliness and presentation standards
3. Allocate tasks to staff , provide guidance and ensure staff maintain quality standard.
4. Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered at all times.
5. Deal with customer's complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
6. Review and assess customer satisfaction via google reviews and other booking platforms.
7. Oversee and coordinate the property maintenance and guest room repairs.
8. Supervise security of the motel and ensure the safety of the guest by reviewing and supervising security arrangements.
9. Provide local tourism information to customer and help arrange tours and transportation when required.
10. Determine goods and services to be provided and set room rates in line with market demand.
11. Manage the motel's accounting including the account receivable and payable.
12. Oversee the purchasing activities and maintain positive relationship with suppliers.
13. Responsible for interviewing, recruiting and staff training.
14. Ensure compliance with all government regulations, including occupational health and safety regulations.
