Vacancy Details

  • Job Title: Cook
  • Employment Type: Permanent & Full-time
  • Days required: Monday to Sunday on roster
  • Hours per week: guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours a week, a maximum of 50 hours a week.
  • Wage: $28-33 per hour
  • Number of Vacancies: 3 position

Primary duties of this position include:
• Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment
• Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients

• Manage portion sizes in the prescribed manner and control waste
• Ensure preparation is done on time and to the highest standards
• Prepare, measure and weight ingredients in accordance with the recipe
• Preparation and cooking of various dishes

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly and monitor the inventory of food supplies.
• Any other tasks at the direction of the Director which conform to the spirit of the Employee’s Employment Agreement.

To be right for this role and our team, you need to meet one of the below:

A qualification at Level 3 or above

OR

At least 24 months of relevant work experience (this can include experience as
a kitchen hand, assistant cook, or other kitchen-related roles)

General duties:

·         Performing consultations and suggesting services to clients
·         Recommending products and treatments to clients
·         Maintaining a clean workstation
·         Developing strong relationships with clients to keep them coming back

·         Any other duties the employer reasonably may require the employee to perform

Nails:

·         Cleaning and shaping the client’s fingers and toenails
·         Removing old polish and preparing nails for services
·         Performing hand and foot massages
·         Trimming nails and pushing back cuticles
·         Showing good skills such as Pedicure, Manicure, UV gel, nail extension, SNS dipping, full set of acrylic, dipping powder, and nails art in a given time frame
·         Complying with all health and safety standards
·         Applying nail polish and airbrush designs
·         Applying various types of artificial nails
·         Maintaining an inventory of nail salon products
·         Sanitizing equipment and tools between each client
·         Evaluating client’s fingers and toenails and advising them on care tips and useful services/ products
·         Referring clients to health professional nail diseases ( e.g. in-growth nails, double nails) if needs
·         Properly using chemical for nail treatment
·         Assisting with product orders when needed
 

Pay rate: minimum $29.66/ hour   -    maximum $33.56/ hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week:  minimum 30 hours

Requirements for the job:

·         At least two (2) years of relevant work experience OR NZQA Level 4 qualification in Beauty Therapy
·         Must have experience in following skills: full set of acrylic and dipping powder, manicure, pedicure, nails art skills
·         Must have the ability to finish the service in a given time frame with the high quality
·         The knowledge of understanding of the anatomy of nails, and the problems or diseases that can affect them would be an advantage
·         An awareness of health, safety and hygiene of a nail salon environment, especially when dealing with different chemicals would be an advantage
·         Keeping up to date with changes in nail care techniques and products would be an advantage
·         Experience in doing eyelash extensions, eyelash tinting, eyebrow tinting (volumn, hybrid) would be an advantage
·         Experience in waxing would be an advantage
·         Full time availability, may work on weekend and public holiday
·         Able to work under pressure
·         Able to work in a multicultural workplace
·         No criminal record
·         Candidates need to be NZ citizens/residents

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sorting and sequencing items for delivery
  • Delivering mail, parcels, documents, and other items to customer premises and mailboxes
  • Receiving delivery instructions from customers

  • Issuing and collecting receipts for pick-up and delivery transactions
  • Keeping accurate records of all items received and delivered
