Job Duties:

- Delivering outstanding customer service to all customers by listening and responding to customer queries in a confident and professional manner

- Greeting customers as they enter and leave the store

- Creating customer awareness about the latest offers and promotions

- Scan, weigh and record prices of goods for sale

- Take payments for goods and services using point of sale machine

- Issue sales dockets and give accurate change

- Make sure there is enough change, wrapping and other materials needed at checkout

- Count and record money received

- Operate a computer terminal to administer the store's financial transaction system

- Packaging of grocery and produce items

- Keep shelves fully stocked with fresh products

- Prepare store displays and ensure that products are accurately labelled

- Perform any other tasks required by the manager

The successful applicant will have:

- Ability to work 7 days (rostered), late evenings, on weekends and public holidays

- No criminal background and have atleast one year of relevant experience.

DELIVERY DRIVER

We are a based in Whakatane and seek a reliable driver for our busy business.

Key responsibilities:

• Picking up orders and delivering them to customers within time limits

• Resolve any delivery issues on site or escalate to manager promptly

You must:

• Be able to drive a Class 1 vehicle
• Have clean Class 1 driver licence  
• Have a smart phone
• Have basic English language skills for ease of communication
• At least one year of relevant experience
• Be physically fit
• Be able to work late evening, weekends and public holidays (on call)

We are a retail business based in Whakatane, BOP.  We are seeking a capable Store Manager to join the team.

You will have a tertiary level qualification or at least three years of relevant work experience in supervisory/management roles.

Be able to work long hours and during public holidays as required.

You will be given 30 hours minimum guaranteed hours per week.  Remuneration will be $30.00-$32.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Effectively manage the overall operations of the store
• Lead the team independently and supervise the staff for smooth routine operations of business.
• Manage the daily operations of the store including the takeaway at the premises
• Manage and supervise staff, including hiring, rostering, training and performance evaluation
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations
• Monitor and analyse sales and financial data
• Practice excellent communication skills with staff, management and customers.
• Manage finances, including budgeting, cash handling and financial reporting
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, and negotiate contracts and pricing
• Implement marketing and promotional activities to attract and retain customers
• Resolve customer complaints and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
• Strategically plan the growth of business at local level ensuring maximum regular casual customer at the store.
• Introduce and implement new and innovative ideas to generate revenue.

• Make policies and checks to minimise stock expiry and wastage and to minimize the difference between physical stock at store and stock in books
