The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is critical in supporting our clients with accurate financial record-keeping and reporting. You will work with both manual and computerised systems to ensure accounts are managed effectively and in compliance with New Zealand accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and balance financial records using accounting systems (manual and computerised).
- Monitor cash flow and lines of credit for clients.
- Prepare and produce financial statements, budgets, expenditure reports, and analyses.
- Generate invoices, purchase orders, and bank deposits.
- Reconcile accounts against monthly bank statements.
- Verify recorded transactions and promptly report irregularities to management.
- Assist with preparation of tax-related forms (e.g., GST paid and collected).
What We’re Looking For
- NZQF Level 4 qualification, or at least three years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial/accounting role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial matters clearly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
