We have a unique opportunity for a Skilled Automotive Technicians to work with leading Automotive client in Hamilton.
Looking for an exciting opportunity to grow your Automotive career? Look no further! Our highly successful client, a trusted Automotive repair and maintenances provider in Hamilton, is currently seeking an experienced Auto Technicians to join their team at the Hamilton Branch.
Your Job role:
You will have the ability to work independently producing a high standard of work. Full automotive skill set will be required. WOF endorsements would be an advantage but full training will be offered for the right candidate.
- Perform diagnostic testing and carry out necessary automotive repairs.
- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies transmissions steering mechanisms and other components.
- Performing scheduled maintenance services
- Assist with general Servicing and WOF checks when required.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- At least 3 years’ working experience with light vehicles
- Strong Fault Finding and Diagnostic Skills
- Passion and drive to grow your role within the company
- Excellent communication skills
- Clean full class 1 Drivers License

- Excellent remuneration package-($31-$36 Hourly rate depend on experience)
- Working hours: 7:30am to 4.30pm minimum 30 hours per week.(Monday to Friday)

Job Description
Full time permanent Automotive Technician/Mechanic is required. The minimum work will be 30 hours per week and maximum will be 45 hours. Hours of work are to be flexible to meet the operational needs of the Employer. These hours include Monday to Friday on a roster basis. Candidates should pass a background check and must be physically fit. New Zealand citizen or resident is preferable, please mention in your CV.
Job Duties
- Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
- Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts
- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components, and checking parts
- Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
- Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
- Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
- Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
- Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
- May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness
- Liaise with clients to determine their automotive requirements and communicate vehicular defects or problems
- May respond to vehicle breakdown service calls and repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g., leaks)
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
- Keep logs on work and issues
- Adhere to company work safety policies
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
- Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
- Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
Skills Requires:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience as auto mechanic
