Your Job role:
You will have the ability to work independently producing a high standard of work. Full automotive skill set will be required. WOF endorsements would be an advantage but full training will be offered for the right candidate.
- Perform diagnostic testing and carry out necessary automotive repairs.
- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies transmissions steering mechanisms and other components.
- Performing scheduled maintenance services
- Assist with general Servicing and WOF checks when required.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- At least 3 years’ working experience with light vehicles
- Strong Fault Finding and Diagnostic Skills
- Passion and drive to grow your role within the company
- Excellent communication skills
- Clean full class 1 Drivers License

- A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering is required to perform this role.
- While a Bachelors Qualification is strictly not a requirement, a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering will be a great advantage.
- 3 Years of relevant experience as a Mechanic can substitute the qualification requirements.
- A vaild drivers licence or the ability to obtain one in 3 months.
- 6 to 12 months of New Zealand work experience is an advantage but not a mandatory requirement.

Position Summary:
- Title: Automotive Technician / Mechanic
- Wage: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
- Location: Penrose, Auckland
- Employment Type: Permanent – Full-time
- Hours of Work: 45 hours per week (30 hours guaranteed), from Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm. An employee may be required to work on weekend and up to 52 hours per week.
Tasks include:
· Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately;
· Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and update;
· Perform hybrid battery diagnostics, servicing, and replacement;
· Repair mechanical and electrical faults in motor vehicles and replace parts when required;
· Utilise diagnostic tools and scanning equipment to identify faults and performance issues.
· Conduct routine maintenance and general mechanical work as needed to ensure road worthiness and longevity;
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards at the workshop;
· Provide high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service;
· Contribute to weekly "toolbox meetings" and company policies and procedures.
To be successful in this position, our ideal candidate will have:
· Relevant qualification (Level 4 qualification in Automotive Engineering or above); or at least three year of relevant experience as automotive technician/mechanic.
· Must have a full clean New Zealand driver’s licence
· Experience with hybrid vehicle and batteries diagnostics.
· Flexibility to work all shifts including weekends and public holidays (as may be required)
