We’re looking for a reliable Machine Operator / Labourer to join our client’s busy steel company. This is an ongoing temporary role (minimum 3 months, with potential for long term work).

About the Role:

• Operating a rebar tying machine in the warehouse
• General yard and labouring duties as required
• Monday – Thursday, 8.00am – 6.30pm (long weekends every week!)
• Heavy lifting involved – must be physically fit

 What We’re Looking For:

• Machine operating experience (rebar tying machine) preferred 
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and MOJ check
• Physically fit and reliable with a good work ethic
• Previous experience in steel fixing - beneficial 

 Preferred (but not essential):

• Gantry crane ticket (3800)
• Forklift licence (OSH certificate)

 What’s on Offer:

• $25 – $28 per hour depending on experience

Job Summary

We are seeking 2 skilled and experienced Excavator Operators to join our team. The
successful candidate will be responsible for operating excavators to perform various
earthmoving tasks, including trenching, grading, and material handling. This role
requires precision, safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively in
construction and civil engineering environments.

Job Duties:

• Prepare machine for operation.
• Operate excavators to dig trenches, foundations, and other necessary earthworks.
• Load and unload materials, debris, and other objects safely and efficiently.
• Perform grading, leveling, and compaction tasks as required.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks and ensure the machine is in good working condition.

Job pre-requisites :

We are on the hunt for skilled and experienced operators for the following positions -

 

• Site-works Operators for residential site works. Preferably hold a Class 2 licence
• Drainage Operators for residential, Civil and commercial sites
• A great all round Earthworks Operator, operating 20t digger and Class 2 licence

Experienced all-round operators needed for ongoing work in Christchurch and Canterbury. Workflow has been consistent throughout the winter months and is still increasing with ongoing work. 

In this role you will need to be hardworking and motivated, willing to get stuck into your role and join a strong team. 

These positions are temp to perm opportunities.

• Experience in Site Works, Drainage or Earthworks 
• WTR
• Class 2 or 4 - is beneficial
