About The Team
Our Operations Process and Technology Improvement (OPTI) group supports the Operations division to deliver solutions required to manage the real time power system and prepare for an increasingly electrified future group plays an essential role in proactively identifying the critical capabilities, skills, resources, and support needed to meet current and future operational needs. The group is working to optimise planning and investment decisions across key tools and processes (including SCADA applications, market systems, real time systems, and real time asset management technologies) utilised by our control rooms and other areas of Transpower.
About the opportunity - a pivotal and formative new role!
Working closely with the Operations Senior Leadership Team, OPTI Lead Team, and with our ICT Enterprise Architecture team, you'll shape a strategic and structured foundation for Operations.
You'll focus on aligning capabilities, processes, and technologies with long-term business objectives. This includes designing a comprehensive business architecture that outlines core operational areas, value chains, and essential capabilities. These artefacts will serve as a reference point throughout our capability uplift journey, informing and shaping our key investment decisions.
You are required to evaluate current maturity levels and define target states to guide capability uplift roadmap; and ensure investments and outcomes are aligned and work undertaken is purposeful. You'll engage across Operations and build positive relationships with the broader Operations Senior Leadership team to deeply understand their objectives and challenges.
You'll provide a framework for guiding investment priorities, identifying synergies, and avoiding duplication. Acting as a central integrator across OPTI, the Business Architect connects process modelling, capability planning, and technical systems into a cohesive delivery model. Collaboration with Enterprise Architecture is essential to maintain alignment with broader organisational standards while preserving operational focus and autonomy.
As a key member of the OPTI leadership team (based primarily in Wellington) your mahi will anchor Operations strategic planning ensuring every initiative contributes meaningfully to a well-defined Operational roadmap and capability planning with long term business objectives in mind.
For the right candidate, we are open to your choice of Transpower office as whilst Wellington is preferred, Hamilton or our Ōtara, Auckland office are options noting monthly in person collaboration will be required in Wellington.
What will you bring?
Previous experience as a trusted advisor operating between the business and ICT, translating complexity and technical knowledge from SME's, into actionable, outcome focused strategies and plans.
With outstanding ability to monitor, anticipate and assess emerging trends, and innovations, your magic is bringing people together. You are recognised for your ability to influence, identify strategic business opportunities, and translate them into a clear, practical roadmap that drives enhanced business value.
To be considered, your CV and cover letter will demonstrate:
- 10+ years professional experience in Business Architecture or related roles (e.g. Enterprise Architecture) demonstrating commercial acuity and understanding of road maps, funding mechanisms, and financial management.
- Experience working with and producing business architecture artefacts, including business capability models, value stream maps, business process models, and business performance models.
- Proficiency with using data analytics to drive decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
- Outstanding relationship management and verbal and written communication skills. In previous roles you will have demonstrated astute ability to provide insightful, persuasive, and trusted advice to senior leaders and both technical and non-technical audiences of all levels.
- Experience utilising business architecture tools and frameworks such as APQC (process classification framework), TOGAF, Zachman, or similar underpinned by a tertiary degree in business, information systems or a related field and/or equivalent experience.

**QA Systems / Audit Engineer**
We are seeking an additional QA Systems/Audit Engineer to join their well-established QA team. The QA Systems/Audit Engineer works to ensure that the CHCEC's Quality Management (QMS) and Safety Management Systems (SMS) are in compliance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements, that the business operation is in conformance with the QMS & SMS and that the business delivers a safe and airworthy product.
**Your Role**
+ Monitor and interpret civil aviation regulations, incorporating applicable requirements into CHCEC's Quality and Safety Management Systems to ensure ongoing compliance
+ Plan and conduct audits of product and support sections, engine certification documents, and external repair vendors
+ Direct and lead external regulatory and customer auditors within the product and support sections.
+ Lead and administer safety inquiries and quality investigations.
+ Issue Company Authorisations.
**Your Profile**
+ Hold an NZCAA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License or an overseas equivalent
+ Hold or be prepared to gain a Lead Auditor qualification
+ Have a minimum of 10 years' experience in aviation maintenance, preferably with some experience working in a QA function in an aero-engine MRO
+ Have a high level of computer and IT literacy
+ Be a confident and empathic communicator with the ability to communicate at all levels
+ Be a team player
+ Lead by example - maintain high standards of professionalism
+ Have excellent verbal and written communications skills
+ Be friendly, outgoing, and passionate about what you do
**OPTIMAL QUALIFICATIONS**

At Quantifi Photonics, we are driving innovation in optical communication and high-speed signal integrity testing. We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer - High-Speed I/O to join our global team and play a critical role in the design, integration, and delivery of our advanced test equipment portfolio.
This is a senior technical leadership role that will own system architecture, requirements management, integration, and risk assessment across multidisciplinary hardware, firmware, and software teams. You will work closely with our Director of Technology and Business Development for High-Speed Portfolios while collaborating across Engineering, NPI, and Sales & Marketing functions to ensure our products meet both technical excellence and market demands.
+ Define and maintain top-level system architectures for high-speed electrical and optical signal integrity testing instruments.
+ Elicit, document, validate, and manage complex system requirements across hardware, firmware, and software teams.
+ Lead system integration activities, ensuring subsystem coherence, early issue detection, and reliable system-level performance.
+ Own system-level change control, configuration management, and impact assessments for multi-disciplinary updates.
+ Collaborate with leadership to align product strategies, prioritize features, and incorporate customer and market feedback into system design.
