Job Description
Quick Back Up Ltd in Auckland is seeking 5 Crop Farm Workers to join their team.
Some of the Main Responsibilities include:
- patrolling, inspecting and reporting on the condition of crops
- planting trees, seeds, seedlings, roots, bulbs, tubers, vines and other plants using hand tools and farm machines
- undertaking soil preparation, cultivation and plant and crop maintenance duties such as thinning, weeding and hoeing row crops, and pruning and thinning trees and vines
- spraying trees, vines and other plants with pesticides to control weed growth, insects, fungus growth and diseases
- operating water and irrigation systems for crop growth
- erecting growing supports such as trellises, and protective structures such as greenhouses, netting and fences
- selecting and picking fruit, nuts, grains, vegetables and mushrooms according to set requirements, and discarding rotting and overripened produce
- grading, siloing, baling, sorting, bunching and packing produce and loading it into transporters
- maintaining and cleaning farming infrastructure and equipment such as sheds, fences, plant, and water supply and irrigation systems
- operating and maintaining general farm machinery and machinery to cultivate, fertilise, spray and harvest horticultural produce
- operating data collection and farm technology systems
Type_ Permanent, Full time
Rate of Pay: $23.50 to $24
Minimum guaranteed hours of work: 30 hours per week
Days required: Rotating Roster, including the week ends
Applicants must have Level 2 or 3 qualification or atleast one year of relevant work experience

As part of our ongoing expansion and commitment to excellence, we are seeking dedicated 5 Farm Assistant Workers to join our team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and care of our orchards.
Key Requirements-
At least 12 months or more of experience; or Level 2 or 3 or above qualification.

Physically fit and comfortable doing outdoor work in all weather conditions.
As part of this role, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards (but not limited to):

Assist in canopy structure maintenance: repair posts, wires, trellis, and orchard infrastructure

Operate hand tools and light equipment for orchard care and upkeep

Perform seasonal support tasks such as spraying, mulching, mowing, weed control, and irrigation checks
- Repairing sprinkler systems and broken pipe fittings using hand tools.
- Repairing canopies and posts using hand tools and power tools.
- Cleaning, maintaining and repairing buildings, yards and fences.
- Assisting with irrigating the land for crop growth

Report hazards, infrastructure damage, or operational issues to supervisors

Assist in material movement, stock rotation, and site cleanliness

Comply with all health and safety, biosecurity, and operational guidelines

Operating farm machines and driving tractors to perform routine daily maintenance and cleaning tasks on the orchard.
Pa y & Bene fi ts
- Full-time permanent employment, working hours vary between Monday - Sunday 8:00am - 6:00pm
- Minimum of 30 hours/week guaranteed.
- The hourly rate range is between NZD $25 to $28/hour.
