Our client is a developed and specialist contractor within the civil, commercial and residential space, specialising in a wide variety of concrete structures, and general carpentry.
With experience in small and large-scale projects, they have been involved in constructing a wide range of complex projects including; water treatment plants, retaining walls, bridge construction, concrete structures, building slabs, commercial buildings, sheds and specialist foundations all while they focus on delivering high-quality results.
We are looking on behalf of our client for a driven Site Foreman to join their young energetic team. The ideal candidate will have developed leadership skills, a spring in their step, and knowledgeable in formwork, concrete and carpentry.
As a Foreman, you will lead a skilled team, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards. Tackling the daily challenges that arise with proactive head on solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise daily activities
- Overseeing a project from start to finish effectively to maintain project timelines.
- Ensure that H&S and Quality standards are followed at all times.
- Oversee the execution of a variety of concrete works & structures, foundations, bridges, retaining walls and general carpentry
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure smooth operations within the project.
- Provide on-the-job training and guidance to team members to assist with their development and productivity.
Key Requirements:
- Experience in concrete construction, and general carpentry
- Can read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Previous experience in a Foreman position, managing a team on site and overseeing projects from start to finish.
- Good understanding of HSQE
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Licences such as WTR would be benefical.

Compliance & Administration
- Ensure immigration compliance for all field staff on temporary visas.
- Receive daily duty rosters, timesheets, and work plans from the Business/Office Manager; distribute them to team leaders, and submit completed timesheets for payroll and invoicing.
- Promote and enforce workplace health & safety practices in line with company and regulatory requirements.
Workforce & Team Leadership
- Coordinate with team leaders to determine labour requirements and allocate staff efficiently across orchard blocks and sites.
- Supervise team leaders (one or multiple teams) and manage labour activities across horticultural worksites, including apple, stone fruit, grape, and squash operations.
- Support teams with horticultural work when supervisory tasks are not required.
Orchard Operations & Production
- Ensure that team leaders and their teams are equipped to deliver seasonal orchard operations, including planting, thinning, pruning, and harvesting.
- Monitor crop performance and provide input to management on irrigation, fertilisation, and pest control.
- Maintain accurate records of crop yields, harvest volumes, and production costs.
- Liaise with contractors, labour, and management to ensure smooth and efficient production flow.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor staff output, attendance, and performance.
- Report to management on compliance, health and safety adherence, and other matters as directed.
Logistics & Staff Support
- Coordinate with office management to arrange field staff transport, accommodation, and other logistical needs.
Skills & Experience Required
- Clean New Zealand driver’s license (or ability to obtain one on arrival) and willingness to travel across multiple orchard sites.
- Qualification at NZQA Level 6 or above (preferred, but not essential).
- Previous experience in supervisory, team-leading, or coordination roles in agriculture, horticulture, hospitality, retail, or related industries will be an added advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work outdoors and adapt to seasonal orchard demands.
