Position: Forklift Driver 
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week, full-time
Pay rate: NZD $26.85– $28.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

·    Operate forklifts to safely move raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.

·    Load and unload trucks in a timely and safe manner.

·    Maintain accurate records of stock movements and storage locations.

·    Support warehouse operations, including order picking and stock checks.

·    Comply with all health and safety standards.

Requirements:

·    A current and valid forklift licence.

·    At least 3 years of work experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, OR a Level 4 qualification or above (any field).

·    Physically fit and able to carry out warehouse duties.

·    No criminal record and no drug or alcohol issues.

We require the candidate:

Duties and responsibilities:

• Operating forklift controls to position the vehicle and adjust fork height for loading, unloading, and stacking stone slabs and sheet materials within the warehouse.

• Maneuvering rail-based or automated guided forklifts through narrow aisles and confined spaces to transport materials safely.

• Moving stone and panel products to designated storage areas, ensuring proper placement for efficient space utilization and access.

• Verifying that materials are stored in correct locations to support accurate inventory management and workflow efficiency.

• Monitoring equipment performance via instrument panels, gauges, and digital displays to ensure safe and efficient operation.

• Performing pre- and post-operation inspections and assessing machinery for signs of wear or potential defects.

• Conducting basic maintenance and servicing of forklifts, including lubrication and minor repairs as required.

• Assist in transporting bulk stone, slabs, palletized panels, and crated materials using a forklift, ensuring secure handling throughout the process.

5.Documentation and Reporting

• Complete all necessary paperwork related to stock movement and deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure efficient operations.

6.Team Collaboration

• Work closely with team members to meet production and delivery deadlines.
• Assist in training new staff on forklift operations and safety practices when required.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required

• Valid New Zealand Forklift License.
• Minimum of 3 year experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and stock management systems.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations, especially in manufacturing environments.
• Physically fit and capable of handling materials safely.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
