Job Description
Galvanizing Services 2018 Ltd (GSL), located in Onehunga, Auckland, As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team to support our warehouse and production operations.
This is a full-time role with a minimum of 30 hours gauranteed per week.
Key Responsibilities
1.Forklift Operation
- Safely operate forklifts in compliance with company policies and Health & Safety regulations.
- Conduct daily pre-start checks and report any faults or maintenance needs immediately.
- Handle materials with care to prevent damage and ensure workplace safety.
2. Loading and Unloading
- Load and unload goods, raw materials, and finished products from delivery trucks and containers.
- Stack and store goods in designated warehouse locations in an organized and efficient manner.
3.Inventory and Stock Control
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory management activities.
- Maintain accurate records of materials moved and stored.
- Report discrepancies or damaged goods promptly to the supervisor.
4.Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Report incidents, near misses, and safety hazards immediately.
5.Documentation and Reporting
- Complete all necessary paperwork related to stock movement and deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure efficient operations.
6.Team Collaboration
- Work closely with team members to meet production and delivery deadlines.
- Assist in training new staff on forklift operations and safety practices when required.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required
- Valid New Zealand Forklift License.
- Minimum of 3 year experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and stock management systems.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations, especially in manufacturing environments.
- Physically fit and capable of handling materials safely.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
