Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and assist them in locating products and providing product information.

• Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and preferences.

• Process sales transactions accurately using point of sale (POS) systems, including handling cash, EFTPOS, and other payment methods.

• Monitor inventory levels and inform supervisors of stock shortages or reorder needs.

• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the sales floor, shelves, and workstations.

• Assist in handling customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and efficiently.

• Assist with stocktaking and inventory control tasks as required.

• Observe workplace health and safety regulations and procedures.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Prior experience in a customer service or retail sales environment preferred but not essential.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• A proactive and positive attitude with a strong work ethic.

• Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.

• Good numeracy skills and attention to detail.

• Secondary school education or equivalent is essential.

• Drivers Licence needed, especially to commute to work for night shifts

Working Conditions:

• Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and public holidays as per roster.

• We require the person to be willing to work night shifts.

• Physical capacity to stand for extended periods and perform tasks involving lifting and manual handling.

To be successful you will need to have previous retail experience, strong selling skills, good people skills and have a competitive streak to achieve your sales and new sign up targets. Your time management and organisational skills will be sound and you will not be afraid of hard work.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, and friendly retail team where excellence, success and people are valued and rewarded. The job involves heavy lifting of boxes (up to 25 kg), customer service both on the floor and serving on the Point-of-Sale system, stocking shelves and other jobs needed in the store.

This is full-time, permanent employment with a minimum of 30 hours a week and an hourly rate of NZ$24.00 – 26.00/ hour.

 You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Support the store manager with an array of operational tasks and projects, including stock ordering, stock takes, banking, cash handling, merchandising, and much more.
• Labelling goods and ensuring the correct price is displayed.
• Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.
• Opening and closing of premises and associated security
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
• Be courageous with being bold, innovative and not afraid to take on any aspect of the role.
• A self-starter capable of working well by yourself on solo shifts and staying motivated.
• Handling the cash counter & invoice the customers for the goods purchased.
• Listening to customers’ complaints & forwarding it to the management to address it in a professional manner.
• Able to Fry and Serve Chicken and Chips to customers ( when required).
• Able to make and serve coffee to customers (When required).
