About the Role
Due to an internal promotion, we are on the hunt for a Mid - Senior Estimator / QS; This is a key strategic hire within the commercial team. You will work across first principles estimating, budget planning, subcontractor engagement, and full life-cycle cost control. Your input will help shape successful tenders and drive commercial performance on major civil projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the preparation of tenders and cost estimates for energy and infrastructure projects

Analyse drawings, specifications, and subcontractor quotes

Conduct site visits and technical reviews for accurate pricing
-
Support project managers with cost reporting, variations, and forecasting
-
Engage confidently with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
About you:
We’re looking for a commercially sharp Estimator or QS who knows civil inside and out—particularly in groundworks, concrete, cables, and infrastructure. You are confident working autonomously and capable of pricing from the ground up.

4+ years of civil construction / infrastructure experience in NZ

Strong estimating and/or quantity surveying background (ideally both)

Knowledge of energy sector projects (substations, power farms, etc. ideal not essential)

Highly proficient in cost planning, procurement, and contract admin

Excellent analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

A team-first attitude with attention to detail and integrity

About the Role
Due to an internal promotion and a new branch being seeded we are on the hunt for a young Civil Site Manager; you’ll be part of an ambitious young team overseeing the safe and efficient delivery of civil works on major substation and energy projects. You’ll lead site crews, manage subcontractors, and ensure high standards are met from earthworks and trenching through to concrete structures and cable installation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Day-to-day site management of energy sector projects (substations, renewables)
· Supervise groundworks, cable trenching, and concrete structures
· Coordinate plant, labour, materials, and subcontractors
· Ensure all works meet H&S, quality, and program targets
· Report progress to the Contracts Manager and support junior staff development
About You:
You’ll be an experienced Site Manager (or Supervisor ready to step up) who thrives in fast-paced, complex environments. You know your way around cables, ducting, pits, pads, and concrete and understand what it takes to deliver substation or similar energy infrastructure work safely and to spec.
We’re looking for someone who:
· Has 2 + years in civil infrastructure, with proven site experience
· Brings experience in energy/ drainage/in-situ and precast concrete infrastructure works
· Can read drawings, manage crews, and lead from the front
· Communicates clearly and runs a tight site with strong H&S practices
· Is motivated, reliable, and enjoys being part of a young, ambitious team
· Open to working away as required
