What you will do

Test Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive test plans that encompass all aspects of software functionality;

Automated Testing: Design and implement automated test scripts to enhance testing efficiency. Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/ CD) pipeline, contributing to a streamlined and reliable release process;

Collaborative Agile Participation: Actively engage in grooming sessions of the scrum team, providing valuable feedback from an end-user perspective. Foster a collaborative environment by closely working with QA teams from various projects on common topics;

Continuous Improvement: Champion a continuous improvement approach to QA activities. Identify opportunities for process enhancement, contributing to the efficiency, effectiveness, and overall quality of QA processes;

Regression Testing Management: Monitor and maintain daily automated regression runs, ensuring the stability and reliability of our software. Address any issues promptly, contributing to the overall robustness of our products.

Must haves 

4+ years of commercial experience in JavaScript/TypeScript test automation;

Experience with end-to-end testing using tools like Cucumber;

Strong understanding of Typescript, as well as Node and React;

Strong communication skills with excellent interpersonal effectiveness.

Nice to haves

Experience using Playwright;

Experience with Docker is a plus.

Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle – requirements, architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment;

Participate in the project planning process including estimating and process improvements in an Agile environment;

Deliver solutions that are highly usable, efficient, secure, and scalable;

Strive at all times to do work using best practices – through experience or experimentation.

Position Purpose:

To contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of scalable and efficient software systems tailored to retail technologies and client-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse user requirements and system functionality to design and develop new software components or improve existing systems.

• Engineer high-performance software architecture to support smart retail solutions, ensuring alignment with system requirements and business goals.

• Design, code, test, debug, and document software applications using appropriate tools, languages, and frameworks.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, UI/UX designers, and other developers to deliver reliable and user-friendly retail software solutions.

• Participate in system integration, performance tuning, and deployment processes.

• Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure code quality and system reliability.

• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers where applicable.

• Research and apply new technologies to enhance AIMER’s retail technology offerings.

• Troubleshoot and resolve system bugs, performance bottlenecks, and operational issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of professional experience as a software engineer, ideally in retail systems or enterprise applications.

• Proficiency in software development using languages such as Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript.

• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and relational/non-relational databases.

• C++, Java (Android) and AngularJS software development

To excel in this position, you should have:

• At least 5 years of experience in C++ application development.
