Job Description
This role is for New Zealand citizen or resident only, no visa supporting.
We are looking for a capable and proactive Law Clerk with 2–3 years of practical legal experience to support our legal team. This role is ideal for someone progressing toward admission as a solicitor or seeking to build on their experience in a high-performing legal environment. The successful candidate will assist with substantive legal work, including research, drafting, and matter management, while also playing a key role in supporting senior legal staff.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth legal research and provide analysis to support litigation, advisory, or transactional work

Draft a range of legal documents including contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, legal opinions, and correspondence

Assist in file management across all stages of legal matters—from instruction through to resolution
-
Prepare bundles for court proceedings or regulatory submissions
-
Attend client meetings, mediations, or court (as required) and take detailed notes or minutes
-
Liaise with clients, counsel, courts, and third parties in a professional and timely manner
-
Ensure all work complies with firm policies and legal ethical obligations

Pay rate: $24.00 per hour
Days required: 5-6 days/week (Must be available on Weekends)
Hours per week: 35 hours/week, maximum 55 hours/week
Key Requirements:

Master qualification in Law (NZQA-accredited) AND at least two years of relevant experience in a legal environment

Strong research, writing, and analytical skills

Proficiency with legal software (e.g., OneLaw, Actionstep) and research platforms (Lexis Advance, Westlaw NZ)
-
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Clear understanding of the New Zealand legal system, including court procedures and common legal processes

Able to work independently while contributing to a team

About the role
As a Legal Content Specialist, you'll lead the strategic development of legal content within the New Zealand Content Management team. Working closely with subject matter experts, you'll be responsible for the commercial performance of your content portfolio-driving decisions around pricing, marketing, sales strategies, and new product development.
Your legal expertise will help shape content strategies that align with customer needs and market trends. You'll collaborate with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, and customer discovery to create compelling business cases and ensure our content continues to deliver strong value and market relevance.
Reporting to the Head of Content Management NZ, this is a permanent full-time role based in our Wellington office in New Zealand with combined home/office-based arrangements to have flexible work-life balance.
Responsibilities
+ Content Strategy: Ownership and responsibility to develop content strategies from new product ideation, to proposals including major redevelopments or positioning of existing content. This entails integrating Te Ao Maori principles into your work, including tikanga, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
+ GTM & External Team Support: Establishing efficient tools and methods to support Sales and Marketing teams in promoting and securing sales of products.
+ Relationship Management (external & internal): Establishing key relationships to share knowledge and support external facing teams.
Requirements
+ 3+ years' experience as a content developer or equivalent experience in legal or publishing industries
+ Legal practice, legal industry and/or publishing experience
+ An understanding of Te Ao Maori and tikangaHigh level of legal research skills
+ Computer skills in Microsoft Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
+ Superior reading and legal comprehension skills
+ Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
+ Demonstrated project management skills
+ Strong commercial awareness
