Opportunity Overview:
As a Manufacturing Assembly Operator, you will play a hands-on role in assembling and testing high-precision optical and photonics products in a controlled, cleanroom environment. You'll follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering drawings to build and inspect our innovative products-ensuring every unit meets the highest quality and performance standards.
+ Assemble optical, laser, and photonic components using hand tools, jigs, microscopes, and documented instructions
+ Unpack, clean, and prepare components and sub-assemblies for production
+ Follow quality control processes, perform inspections, and report any issues or non-conformances
+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to PPE and cleanroom protocols
+ Prepare packaging materials and assist with final product handling
+ Help improve processes, support production targets, and meet On-Time Delivery goals
+ Complete daily timesheets and production records accurately

+ A relevant diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
+ 1-2 years' experience in an electronics manufacturing or assembly environment
+ Solid understanding of electro-mechanical assembly practices
+ Ability to interpret technical documentation such as BOMs, SOPs, and assembly drawings
+ A high attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
+ Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
+ Motivation to contribute proactively to process improvements

We’re seeking a full-time Specialist Machine Operator to join our food manufacturing team in Mt Wellington, Auckland. This hands-on role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting three specialised popcorn machines, performing quality checks, and supporting production planning to ensure efficiency.
We’re on the hunt for a skilled and flexible Specialist Machine Operator to join our tight-knit team in Mt Wellington, Auckland.
This is a full-time role in the food manufacturing industry, working with three specialised machines that demand precision, experience, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
· Operate, monitor, and adjust popcorn machines including kettles, poppers, and packers
· Complete daily production runs, following recipes and flavour profiles
· Perform quality control checks on batch output and packaging
· Conduct basic machine maintenance and troubleshoot minor faults
· Work closely with the team to forecast production needs and meet targets
· Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety at all time
· Flexibility to start work from 5am, and complete up to 12-hour shifts as required
· Weekend work is regularly required – reliability is key
· Minimum of 30 hours per week, with potential for more depending on production needs
· Forecasting production to maximise machine efficiency and output
· Routine mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting to minimise downtime
What we’re looking for:
️ Minimum 1 year experience operating and maintaining manufacturing machinery
️ Strong mechanical aptitude and proactive problem-solving skills
️ Proven ability to forecast and plan for production efficiency
