**What you need to bring**
+ Our preferred candidate for this role will have technical experience in aspects of Electrical Engineering for infrastructure and industrial projects.
+ An understanding and experience with electrical systems and infrastructure design in NZ or Australia.
+ You will have experience in working to the requirements of relevant AS/NZS standards relating to Electrical Engineering areas that you can apply to project delivery.
+ You will enjoy working as a team and communicate well with others.
+ You will have proven experience in working in diverse teams and managing your own delivery.
+ You will understand the tools, including Electrical CAD and modelling software.
+ You will be comfortable dealing with external stakeholders including clients and utility companies.
+ In this exciting position, your own self-management skills will be as important as your technical ones. You will need to be able to prioritise workloads whilst maintaining strong and trusting working relationships with our clients' and colleague's both locally and across the broader Stantec team.

**What you need to bring**

Opportunity Overview:
At Quantifi Photonics, we're redefining the boundaries of photonics innovation, and we're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing product development team. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components, enclosures, and assemblies that bring our next-generation products to life. You'll play a key role in ensuring designs meet performance, manufacturability, and reliability standards while supporting the delivery of high-quality products to market.
+ Design and develop 3D models and detailed drawings for mechanical parts (enclosures, heatsinks, brackets, etc.) using CAD tools (Inventor, SolidWorks or similar).
+ Build and test mechanical prototypes to verify form, fit, and function; conduct environmental and stress testing to validate designs.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with NPI, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and cost.
+ Conduct simulations and engineering calculations for thermal, vibration, and mechanical stress analysis.
+ Align mechanical solutions with overall product requirements, balancing function, aesthetics, and environmental constraints.

As a graduate project engineer, you'll be mentored by industry experts while gaining hands-on experience in the design and delivery of transmission line projects. You'll be involved in:
+ Supporting the concept and detailed design of transmission lines using industry-standard tools such as PLS-CADD.
+ Assisting with structural assessments and designs of towers and poles using Excel, PLS-TOWER, and PLS-POLE.
+ Learning to design various foundation types, including grillage, direct-embed, and pile foundations.
+ Contributing to design reports and project documentation.

**Qualifications**
+ **Bachelor's Degree:** A recently completed or soon-to-be completed degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

* Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures.
* Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including essential equipment, and event support.
* Provide technical support to the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions, which add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency.
* Supporting operating partners to lead, review, and approve designs for existing co-location (colo) data center upgrades which improve availability/efficiency.
* Interface with operating partners, data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered by operating partners.
* Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
* Initiate and lead engineering site audits within leased or colo data centers. Produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediation's.

You will prioritize your activities to support data center capacity availability and safety focusing on the actions that are most impactful. Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.
- 6+ cumulative years of experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, oil / gas facilities. (Experienced Engineer)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
- Ability to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/mass production
- Basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers (Including but not limited to: uninterruptible power sources , diesel generators, electrical switch-gear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled), pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs, air economizers, etc.)
- Have fluent knowledge of continuous operating redundant electrical systems, cooling systems, air flow containment systems and building management systems. (Including but not limited to: uninterruptible power sources, AC/DC conversion, P&ID loops, diesel generators systems and complex arrangements, direct evaporative cooling systems, etc.).
