About the Role
This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. From electrical components and advanced controls to system upgrades and compliance, you'll ensure local businesses stay cool, efficient, and safe. No two days are the same, and you'll have the chance to work on a variety of interesting projects, from new installations to high-end system servicing.
What You'll Be Doing
- Installing and commissioning commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing electrical issues to keep systems running smoothly
- Carrying out upgrades and retrofits to improve energy efficiency and performance
- Working with advanced electrical systems, controls, and wiring in commercial environments
- Ensuring safety, compliance, and quality standards are met on every job

- EWRB Registered Electrician with current practising licence (or close to completing Apprenticeship)
- Experience in commercial HVAC and/or refrigeration systems preferred
- Trade certification in Electrical, HVAC, or Refrigeration Engineering.
- Knowledge of health & safety, compliance, and commissioning requirements.
- A problem-solver with strong technical and diagnostic skills
- Full NZ driver's licence (manual + auto)

This role is a full-time permanent position with a guaranteed 40 hours per week.
Reporting to the Technical Coordinator, your role is to provide exceptional support as part of a team of professional service technicians, responsible for carrying out operational, maintenance and repair works on commercial Chillers and HVAC equipment across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
**Key Responsibilities Include:**
+ Carry out planned and unplanned service, maintenance and commissioning of all types of Trane chiller and heat pump equipment, air handling units and unitary air conditioning systems.
+ Accurate and timely completion of required paperwork related to work performed
+ Participate in the after-hours standby duty roster.
+ Fostering and maintaining professional working relationships amongst technicians and apprentices and continually demonstrating the ability to work within pairs and smaller teams
+ Comply with all safety, company and statutory policies and procedures at all times.
+ Actively participate in all company-facilitated training and service meetings as required by the company
+ As required by the company, facilitate on-site training for other technicians/apprentices as well as supervise work performed by an allocated apprentice.
+ Quote and bring new client leads for small service repairs
**To be successful in this role ideally you will have**
+ 5 Years experience/exposure to commercial HVAC Chillers
+ Valid full Driver's License (due to company insurance requirements)
