n New Zealand: NZ Register Level 4 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.

Tasks Include:

    • monitoring sales data and stock levels, and studying trade, manufacturers' and market information to keep informed of changing market conditions
    • negotiating purchase, promotion and supply arrangements with suppliers
    • designing and implementing pricing, marketing, promotional and display strategies
    • liaising with management on long-term planning and sales promotions
    • establishing working plans according to seasonal and budgetary requirements
    • anticipating consumer trends and determining quantity, style and quality of goods to be purchased
    • inspecting, comparing, selecting and valuing wool by determining colour, yield, micron and length
    • inspecting and buying wool at auction, in wool brokers' stores and in farm sheds
    • receiving samples from scoured wool exchanges
    • may visit freezing works to buy slipe wool

As a Senior Planner, you'll be involved in interesting and meaningful projects around the country, help to identify and win opportunities to work with our

This varied and exciting role involves:
* Leading and delivering projects across the full Planning spectrum, working with the rest of our Planning team, and collaborating with our broad range of technical specialists from other disciplines
* Providing expert evidence at Council hearings or Environment Court hearings
* Leading and/or supporting community and stakeholder engagement
* Thought leadership and sharing your knowledge of statutory planning with others in the Planning team, and our colleagues from other disciplines
* Identifying and leading the development of new business opportunities for Stantec, with full support.

* A recognised tertiary qualification in planning or an NZPI-recognised equivalent
* Full membership of the NZPI, or eligibility to work towards it
* Broad professional planning experience of at least seven years.
* Thorough practical knowledge of, and experience working with the New Zealand Planning system
* The ability to establish, build and foster great relationships with clients and colleagues, and to build your own professional network
* Excellent all-round communication skills, a passion for problem solving, and a drive to achieve outstanding outcomes

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate and develop project administrative plans and taking into account the project budgeting in terms of costs, quality and time frame.

  • Review and negotiate any variations to projects, contracts and quotations

  • Liaise and communicate with relevant third parties to ensure that projects are completed as planned and agreed within budget

  • Liaise and communicate with relevant staff and professional parties for necessary inspections that are required for projects undertaken

  • Respond to any inquiries on projects, work with internal and external parties to resolve the problems

  • Following and taking actions for any matters decided by management, reports relevant issues that are required to pay attention, such as site safety issues

  • Coordinate with team members to obtain updates regarding the work in progress and provide timely project status report to management

  • Manage paperwork associated with the projects, prepare reports on the project outcome, analyzing relevant information and project data.
