**Job Description**
Our Auckland Transport team is looking for a Structural Engineer to work on a range of major and medium-sized infrastructure projects such as Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Riverlink) and Inland Rail.

+ Prepare clear, well-structured technical reports and support the development of proposals and other project documentation

+ Minimum 3 years of design office experience in New Zealand, with 2+ years of professional structural design experience and a relevant tertiary qualification.

+ Proficient with the NZTA Bridge Manual, New Zealand Standards, MIDAS Civil, and the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
+ Well versed in local design practices, codes, and compliance specific to New Zealand infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret engineering plans and drawings to accurately place and secure structural steel components 
  • Tie reinforcement steel using correct techniques for various reinforcement systems 
  • Collaborate with site teams to ensure timely and safe installation of steelwork 
  • Comply with all health, safety, and quality standards on-site 
  • Work efficiently within large construction teams under strict deadlines 


Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with structural steel placement and reinforcement tying (local or overseas) 
  • Ability to read and work from technical and engineering drawings 
  • Strong physical fitness and manual dexterity 
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and quality control in steel construction 
  • Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure construction projects preferred 
  • Relevant trade experience or qualifications advantageous
