**Job Description**
Our Auckland Transport team is looking for a Structural Engineer to work on a range of major and medium-sized infrastructure projects such as Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Riverlink) and Inland Rail.

+ Minimum 3 years of professional bridge and civil structures design experience office experience in New Zealand, with 2+ years of professional structural design experience and a relevant tertiary qualification.

+ Well versed in local design practices, codes, and compliance specific to New Zealand infrastructure projects, specifically experience designing in accordance with the NZTA Bridge Manual, New Zealand Standards,
+ Familiar with using MIDAS Civil, and proficient user of the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

You'll lead a growing team of structural engineers, drive technical excellence, and foster strong client relationships with key stakeholders such as Waka Kotahi (NZTA), KiwiRail, and local councils. Leadership & Team Development
* Lead and mentor a team of structural engineers across various experience levels.
* Foster a collaborative, success-oriented team culture.
* Support staff development through coaching, training, and performance reviews.
* Ensure appropriate staffing levels and support regional resource sharing.
* Work closely with the Wellington Transport Leader to monitor team performance and contribute to regional strategic planning.

* Act as Project Manager or Technical Lead or other substantive technical role on complex transport infrastructure projects.

**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
After tertiary education, you'll have at least 10 years' relevant experience, be a member of Engineering New Zealand and be a Chartered Professional Engineer. + Supporting the concept and detailed design of transmission lines using industry-standard tools such as PLS-CADD.
+ Assisting with structural assessments and designs of towers and poles using Excel, PLS-TOWER, and PLS-POLE.
+ Learning to design various foundation types, including grillage, direct-embed, and pile foundations.
+ Contributing to design reports and project documentation.
+ Participating in site visits and inspections to see your designs come to life.
**Qualifications**
+ **Bachelor's Degree:** A recently completed or soon-to-be completed degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
+ **Graduate Year:** You must have completed your studies and have graduated before starting the program.
+ **Commencement:** You must be able to commence work by February 2026. We are open to mid-year finishers who are able to commence by July 2026.
+ A strong interest in transmission line design and a desire to work in the energy infrastructure sector.
