The Team leader will be required to travel within the Bay of Plenty region and the cost of travel and fuel will be borne by the employer.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversees and supervises the team, which includes permanent as well as seasonal workforce, in all aspects as part of the job requirements.
• Assist the Manager in running as per the budget ensuring maximize efficiency.
• Ensure that successful seasonal horticultural activities lead to a top-quality product year after year.
• Effectively leading staff through compliance with company policies and procedures.

We are looking for Team Leaders for our busy horticulture company located in the heart of the Waikato. These are full-time permanent positions and will consist of managing a team of 8 to 10 workers who are working in our contracted orchards.
To be considered for these positions you’ll have sufficient experience to allow you to complete the tasks in this role. You should have excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) and be able to work independently to reach goals. You must be able to multitask and will be able to complete work in set time frames. You will also ideally have knowledge in the running of an agriculture or horticulture company and at least some (at least 6 months preferred) agriculture or horticulture experience is essential for this position.
You will be also expected to perform management tasks such as preparing the time and wage records for staff, creating reports for work, communicating with farmers and growers, assisting with financial transactions, working with supervisors and other higher managers to ensure that the operations of the orchards are efficient and staff management and training. You will be solely responsible managing your team to ensure that a high standard of work is being completed.
