As the Logistics Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of our logistics operations. You will lead a team to ensure smooth daily operations, cost-effective processes, and high-quality customer service while maintaining compliance with industry regulations. This is a permanent full-time position, you are required to work from Monday to Friday between 9:00 to 17:30.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee daily logistics operations, including transport scheduling, freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to clients.
- Monitor inventory, track shipments, and maintain records using logistics software and reporting systems.
- Optimize transport routes, fleet utilization, and warehouse space to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Strategic Planning & Improvement
- Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and cost savings.
- Manage budgets, forecast logistics needs, and prepare performance reports for senior management.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with transport providers, suppliers, and third-party logistics partners.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with New Zealand transport, health, and safety regulations.
- Implement and monitor risk management policies, including contingency planning for supply chain disruptions.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Client & Supplier Relations
- Act as the main point of contact for logistics-related matters with clients and partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support service excellence.
- Resolve customer complaints and logistics issues in a timely and professional manner.
About You
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in business management with supply chain management or logistics major preferred
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or transport management.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Sound knowledge of logistics software and industry best practices.

What a typical day could look like
- Overseeing all shipping, freight and 3PL management across US, UK and UAE markets

Additionally, you will have:
- Experience with Omni-channel fulfilment strategies (e-commerce, retail, Amazon)
- Proven track record in 3PL management and international logistics
- Knowledge of IoT, and emerging logistics technologies
- Experience with business intelligence tools, automated reporting, and data visualisation
- Tertiary qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain or a related discipline

Due to a period of growth in our Sea Logistics Business Unit, we are now looking for a dedicated and hard-working Processes & Systems Specialist to join our Auckland based team. Reporting to the National Sea Logistics Processes & Systems Manager, you will be responsible for managing the activities of process analysis, identifying areas of process improvement and supporting the day-to-day functions within the various KN Sea Logistics operational systems. A component of your role will also focus on training new and existing staff members in these systems.
