We are on the hunt for someone with plenty of experience in the transport world, with an emphasis on knowledge of the civil industry. You will be leading a team of drivers to deliver exceptional results across a wide range of projects across the city and beyond.

This is a a crucial role to ensure safe, smooth and effective operation of the fleet. Great oganisation, communication and juggling skills are a must! You will oversee day to day operations in the yard, liaise with the workshop and manage small plan amongst other day to day tasks. No two days will be the same so you won't be bored!What we will need from you:

**Job Description**
As Manager - Transport & Water in Wellington, you will lead both the Transport and Water teams locally and contribute as a key member of the national leadership teams, working closely with Group Directors and other senior leaders to drive the strategic and operational success of our business and people.
This role is a blend of people leadership, project management, and client engagement. You will be responsible for developing and supporting your team, fostering collaboration across disciplines, and ensuring high-quality delivery. A strong focus will be placed on mentoring, upskilling and team development.
You will also play an instrumental role in client relationship management, actively engaging with key stakeholders and ensuring the financial performance and successful delivery of our Transport and Water portfolios in the Wellington region.
**How you'll make a difference**
+ Champion project delivery and grow the team's capability to successfully deliver projects and service key clients such as Waka Kotahi, Wellington City Council, Hutt City Council, Wellington International Airport and Wellington Water.
+ Lead client engagement and take responsibility for relationship management, financial outcomes and key performance metrics.
+ Drive efficient project execution and promote knowledge sharing across regional, national and global teams to enhance collaboration and consistency.
+ Support the development of technical and professional excellence on all projects and foster a culture of continuous learning, applying innovative technical approaches that that deliver lasting value for both AECOM and our clients.

You will have a proven background in the delivery of infrastructure projects and be able to demonstrate:
+ A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or a related field
+ A minimum of 15 years' professional experience, with a proven track record in the successful delivery of infrastructure projects and demonstrated leadership across complex, multi-disciplinary teams
+ Chartered status or professional membership with a relevant industry body (preferred but not essential)
+ Strong people leadership and management skills, supported by excellent written and verbal communication abilities to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
+ An established network within the Wellington region, with demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong client relationships

**Job Description**
As a Senior Transport Engineer, you will be at the core of delivering high-impact transport infrastructure solutions. You'll work with a diverse range of stakeholders, managing and supporting multiple projects and infrastructure types with a high degree of variability in client needs. This role goes beyond technical expertise - it requires a strategic and practical mindset, financial oversight, and the ability to turn data into actionable insight. We are currently seeking a Senior Transport Engineer to join our Wellington team, with a strong focus on tactical asset management and data-led decision making.
**How you'll make a difference**
+ Develop and deliver Asset Management Plans (AMPs) with both tactical and strategic focus, supporting reporting, strategy, and practical application across infrastructure networks.
+ Analyse and model transport asset data to inform decision-making, investment planning, and the development of prioritised forward works programmes.
+ Provide Information Management advice and support to clients and stakeholders, including using systems such as RAMM(AWM), Maximo or similar.
+ Lead Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Network Management initiatives, addressing risk, criticality, and delivering real-world, data-informed solutions.
+ Manage project financials and contracts, contribute to bids, proposals and development of methodologies/technical approach and collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand challenges and drive outcomes.
+ Supporting the wider transport advisory team across transport planning and engineering tasks.
**Qualifications**

+ Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Transport, Asset Management, or a related field and preferably a chartered engineer or working towards.
+ 5 plus years' experience, ideally in tactical asset management, operations & maintenance management, developing and implementing asset management plans and AM frameworks.
+ Strong data analysis skills, including experience with modelling, interpreting asset data and information management, including using asset management systems such as RAMM/AWM or Maximo.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage projects, financials, and stakeholder relationships across complex, multi-client environments.
